Character Animation Editing
Character Animation Editing
by Shadowz O Death
Introduction
Hello everyone! This step-by-step tutorial demonstrates how to edit character animations so characters can walk around in an MP BSP. Although, this is not AI zones in any way possible, but it is as close as we can possibly get to it at the moment. Enjoy!
Prerequisites
1. AI in MP
2. Entity AI v1.3
3. Yelo Xbox Trainer
Instructions
1. Open Entity AI v1.3.
2. In the menu bar, click "File" then "Open."
3. Double-click the MP map that you wish to make AI walk in.
4. Navigate to the JMAD (JMS Animation Graph) tag.
5. Click on the character that you wish to walk around.
6. Click "Tools" then "Meta Editor."
7. Scroll down to "Animation Calls."
8. Change the "Animation Calls" combo box until the "Pose Name" SID says "combat."
9. Change the "Weapon Class" combo box until the "Class Name" SID says the type of the weapon that your character will be holding.
10. Change the "Weapon" combo box until the "Weapon Short" SID says "any."
11. Change the "Full Body Animations" combo box until the "Condition" SID says "move_front."
12. Copy down the "Reflexive 5 Chunk #" Int16. You will need this for future reference.
13. Change the "Full Body Animations" combo box until the "Condition" SID says "idle."
14. Change the "Reflexive 5 Chunk #" Int16 to the one you've copied down.
15. Click "Save."
16. Close Entity AI v1.3.
Conclusion
Congratulations! You've successfully edited the character animation so it now walks around in an MP BSP!

You can either resign the map by clicking the "Sign" button in Entity or enable the "Bypass Map Checksum" option in the Yelo Xbox trainer. Good luck!preston566 wrote:I'm doing this in coagulation, but I keep getting a failed to load the map, error. Why is it doing this to me? If you know, please tell me.

thanks, but I tried both of them, does the map have to be nearly clean? Cause it's like a whole new place...
I'm not sure what is wrong, but I'll try again.
Thanks
EDIT- Ah, never mind. I think it isn't working cause I followed a different AI in MP tutorial, where you spawn your ai over a rocket launcher in coagulation. I'll try again.
Thanks again
EDIT Again- Ok I got into them map, they do run, but they run in place, along with me. Is there a way to actually make them follow me around.

You would need to have AI zones which can only be used on an SP BSP at the moment.preston566 wrote:thanks, but I tried both of them, does the map have to be nearly clean? Cause it's like a whole new place...

I get that error on some BSPs, while others I don't. Just try another BSP or something. Good luck!preston566 wrote:Thanks! But it never works for me, it'l reach a sound or something, then I'll get an unhandled exception error and I have to close it.
But thanks for the time!
