Entity In Vista

Thats alright, no problem,
Right click on the entity.exe and click on properties.
Click on the compatibility tab.
Check off the boxes shown in the image below.

Click apply and hope it works.

Alright I tried that, unfortunately it still gives the same error

Does entity actually work on vista home premium?

PS: I might install a virtual machine for XP anyways, still would be great if I could get this to work though!

I'm running Ultimate, which if it didn't work on any of the vistas, it would be Ultimate because all the extra "features".

So you are running ultimate on vista?
Anyways it's still not working, perhaps getting visa was a mistake

And do all the other apps work fine? And in entity, is the only thing giving you trouble the BSP viewer? perhaps something is wrong with your directX.

I can open the meta editors no problem at all and I can clone stuff, it's only the BSP viewer.
I tried dark matter's BSP viewer but didn't see much of a map, it did load and when I enabled AI I saw some characters appear.

So how would I deal with this direct x problem?

Since dark matter runs, id say its some other internal problem, if downloading the August directX doesn't fix it try a system restore.
PS: I don't know if directX prompts this but after you install you MUST restart your PC.

OK thanks for the link, I did it but entity still doesn't work properly.
But nevermind cause I can manage with dark matter's bsp viewer (which does work

first off my experience is that home basic runs entity and all apps very well. also most laptops have a hard time using the BSP viewer cuz BSP viewer uses a lot of power.. and most important NEVER USE VISTA HCL DRIVERS. tha is very important for they are uslese, go get drivers from your manufactuer

okay I'll keep that in mind but this is a very powerfull laptop, the darkmatter bsp viewer runs very well so there's something else wrong. All apps do run well though, except entities bsp viewer of course.

Oh well I'll manage, oh btw this isn't home basic, I've got the premium one, doubt it makes much of a difference but oh well.

My first mod is nearing completion and I'll be excited to find out your reactions once it's done!
