Yes we have the choice of enabling it or not, but that's so patriotic...

I'm cool with moving the location emblem to after the 'Location:', or making it always first in your line of emblems, because your then recognising that it was not awarding for achieving something.

I am still failing to understand the point of the serenity repository emblems though...because you haven't achieved anything by getting them, clicking a star/the upload button hardly qualifies...right?..

Meh, I don't know if I really like the location emblems to begin with. I like the whole "have to earn them" thing much better.

To be honest, i'm glad a few people agree with me. I figured most would just get on me for speaking my mind. Thank you guys for understanding my point of view.

I'd put it at the bottom somewhere like the back to top link.

It seems like a cool concept, I just think there would have been better ways to work it out(like some others have said).

I remember I_F saying something refering to the arrow emblems saying it's just a fun emblem that anyone can earn as a "Thank you for voting in the Repository" kind of thing. As for the card emblem I guess that's like saying thanks for uploading your mod, or people actually do earn it by making good mods and getting good ratings for them. Either way those two seem like good meaning for the card emblem.

EDIT:
Here is the link to what I_F said.
Here is the quote
Iron_Forge wrote: As for giving out an emblem wildly to everyone, I've always said the more people with an emblem, the less meaning it has...But by the same token, assuming the arrow emblem is for voting on the repository, this emblem really has no meaning to begin with...It's just a fun emblem, that anyone can earn as a "thanks for voting"...It doesn't make it less cool because other people voted too...There should always be fun emblems that anyone who wants an emblem can go and obtain...

I'm not too fussed, but too some people they'd rather display the English flag... I suppose it would be like an American having the Canadian one, to an extent.

The flag emblems will always be first in the set now, rather than always last...No big deal...And you don't earn them by doing anything, you just set them...The reason they're an emblem, is because it's alot cleaner looking in the forum to have them the same size, and grouped with the other little images in your post, rather than off on their own, taking up an extra row when it's not needed...

As for which flag you choose, it doesn't have to be where you live...Could easily be your ancestry...I'm not about to freak out because someone was born in country A, and chooses that as their emblem even though they live in country B...I dunno about you guys, but I see lots of flags flying around here that aren't Canadian flags...People are proud of their heritage...

As for the serenity voting emblem, there could be more to it than you know...I fail to see why people should only be rewarded for doing hard things, not easy things...It's the same reason there are 3 chevrons for most emblems...Emblems would have just as little meaning if we removed chevrons, and only gave out the 3rd level...There'd be a very small portion of the community with any emblems...My original design of the system, was so that anyone, who wanted an emblem, could put forth the effort, and obtain some degree of it...

I'm much more proud of one or two of the emblems I've earned, than the fact that I have fourteen of the things...If you just want lots, go around getting chevron one of them all...It's not that difficult if you actually try...But really, you won't have accomplished anything either...

And another awesome post by IF. :) Yeah, thanks for making the flags be the first in all the emblems, I like the look of it better, and I'm sure others do too. :)
