Exception errors w/o mods

Post by Ar5eNiC »

hey i really need help. for a few months, i was happily playing and modding the demo of halo but then i finally bought the full version. however, everytime i try to start a campaign, i get a "gathering exception data" error. i also get this same error for some multiplayer maps. but for some multiplayer maps, it actually works, but there are absolutly no models (guns, vehicles, scenery, and even master chief himself). i can still walk around the map and everything but most things are invisible. the collision files load but not the models. i have absolutely no mods installed right now. i have installed the game over and over but still no luck. i am going crazy!!!! by the way, my computer is 1.8GHz 256 RAM and a new ATI Radeon 9600 SE so it meets all requirements. i just don't understand why the trial worked fine but the retail is all messed up. plz help!!! i am very desperate and will be very thankful to anyone that helps me. by the way, hmt 3.5 rocks!

I get that error alot also, when i bought the game, ((which was recently)). And i found that if u use a Hex editor, it will tend to do that to the campaign games, almost all the time. Make sure if u are using a hex editor that all the number and stuff are right with the stuff you changed. But if that dont work go ahead and reinstall. I know i had to...:(

Also i have a question... I get that error on multiplayer, and I havent even used a hex editor on my maps. I dont get the error alot, but i do get it maybe 1 time a week. So does anyone know any other reason this could happen? I have a nvidia geforce 4 Ti 4600 video card and its all updated pretty good. i have 1 gig ram, and 150 gig hard drive disk space.? if that matters?
