ASPARTAME: in your diet soda and artificial sweeteners. also, it's obviously completely safe. it's not like it will cause tumors or anything. >.>

the topic reads as: HDTV era, unless you have a 42" or 58" computer screen this thread does not apply.[cc]z@nd! wrote:i don't do any console gaming, but as far as i know, i game at HD-equivalent resolution (1024x768 on average. lowest is oblivion at 800x600 or something of the like)

I have no idea how 1080p looks on different sized TV's. I'd assume it looks nearly the same, though.

i had enough money for a 32 inch HDTV and was going to buy it because everyone else was getting them. But after thinking about it i just bought 360 games and faceplates. HDTV is not worth it IMO if your just a gamer. I played on my brothers 60 inch LCD TV in HD and the only big difference i saw was size....because it was a big tv. HD has some minor differences but nothing to go OMG OMG OMG OMG I MUTS HAEV ITZ!!!!!
i might buy one soon because at wal mart you can get a 48 inch HDTV for less then liek 800 dollars China FTW

I play on my HDTV only sometimes. My 360 is usually downstairs (Where I have a old SDTV) But my SDTV is fine, it's 50". It's perfectly fine though, I wouldn't trade it in, or throw it out for HD. Maybe when it dies in a few years, when HDTV are lowered in price. Plus I noticed that most of my friends who complain about graphics own an HDTV, I don't know why, But when i play on and HDTV it seems like the graphics aren't that good. All I see is sharper menus, and easy to read text.

The thing is though, is the whole HDTV for xbox 360 thing. Like I mean, I've read in so many places that the leap from SD to HD on the 360 is amazing, and honestly I don't find it that super duper at all...
I love the sharper textures/picture, I love the smaller amounts of details like scratches and all that, but due to what I had been reading, I thought it would be better.
I mean it is indeed a step up from SD, but the step up is quite small...I though maybe it was my tv, but as I said, my friends got HDTV's aswell now I tried it on theirs and it wasn't too special either.
So I guess this topic is really me saying that HD gaming doesn't really make things any better... What's your thoughts? do you think its much better?
Oh...I'm using component cables...Reckon itd be better using VGA (As that supposedly can create a better image)?
I felt the same way as you.. not a huge difference at first. but i now have an HDMI cable and well its a lil nicer.. but after playon on a HDTV for the last year.... i notive a huge difference when i play Gears of war on SD rather than HD. and a load of various games. bye bye SD
