Good thing I'm getting a dev box in a few months, which will undoubtedly have the new cooling hardware and chipset, and be obtained by legal methods though I still possess no idea as to how I will obtain the payments for it.

But yeah, I think everyone already knew this in a way >_>

i doubt thats true the production regulations wouldnt allow them to sell defective equipment if they even hinked at the idea of it being defective.

Cool.
I just reported your past IP range to Microsoft to watch for non-permissible access to partnernet.
Enjoy your legal issues.

Also, RRoDs are hardware failures, devkits have the same hardware.
Sorry to ruin your opportunity that you took upon yourself to tout illegal activities.

Just because it can fail doesn't mean it will. The majority of consoles won't experience any failures in the near future.

I think it's being made into too big of a deal...every heat-sensitive component will fail if it's not ventilated properly, and the hardware flaw makes it only a little easier...it probably won't make everyone's 360 suddenly explode.

I still say they should have kept trying to find a better design for it.

Oh noes! They're going to find out that I... gasp! Use Linux and a registered copy of Vista with Office 97! To tell you the truth, I've never gypped Microsoft out of a buck, believe it or not. I'm happy to say that all of my MS software is legit, hence why I still use Office 97.

I'm amazed they didn't come out with this information earlier, and if they didn't even know the extent of the problem until now, why it took so long to find out that a design flaw was causing problems like this.

@Veegie, I might be mistaken, but doesn't the dev box have HDMI output (and if so, hasn't it had it since the beginning)?

Three times I've had to return my 360, yet my xbox1 sits there defiantly to the end =x

@Coco: Rofl make them purposely break :? ..what would be the point in that? They lose potential buyers and don't make any money anyway from existing customers, seeing as it hasn't cost me a penny to return mine oh so many times. (true it was in the warrenty, but this 2year extension just proves they really did not want this)

@Bacon: Its Microsoft, they can't afford to come out with this information. It was only because of the multitude of complaints that a statement has finally been issued, but still we do not get the whole story, 'Robbie Bach, head of Microsoft's Xbox360 Division refused to elaborate on the issue'. Pathetic really but there you go.. when money is involved, it's always easy to just cover the bad stuff up.
