[Skin] Halo 2 (H2) Shields bar/meter heads up display (HUD)

Post by Greno »

To use this shield bar as it was meant to be, you'll need to do several things:

1.) download Hawaiian Pig's Halo 2 HUD. Heres the link: http://forums.halomods.com/viewtopic.php?t=12394
2.) Download this attachment. Open it and inject it into the bitmaps tag at
ui\hud\bitmaps\combined\hud_unit_meters and ui\hud\bitmaps\combined\hud_unit_backgrounds.
3.) Go to the [unhi] tag (make sure you have Phenomena's plugins). under ui\hud\cyborg, input these values:
SPB Anchor Offset- x 514
SPB Anchor Offset- y 372

SPM Anchor Offset- x 521
SPM Anchor Offset- y 372

HPM Anchor Offset- x 542
HPM Anchor Offset- y 365

This uses Hawaiian Pig's Halo 2 Hud- it replaces the shield bar and moves the Health bar and the shield bar right about the motion sensor. As with the original hud, you are free to use this HUD in your mod, just make sure to give Hawaiian Pig, his team, EchoRanger449, and me credit.

For satisfaction compare my Shield HUD to the actual Halo 2 Shield HUD.

Attachments
Halo 2 (H2) Shield bar or meter Heads up display (HUD)#2.zip
Apply the hud_unit_meters1.dds.1 to ui\hud\bitmaps\combined\hud_unit_meters
and the hud_unit_backgrounds1.dds.1 to ui\hud\bitmaps\combined\hud_unit_backgrounds.
Don't get mixed up with the first version.

I like this one a lot. Better than most HUD mods and it actually looks good.

Your charge bar needs to be cleaned up a bit, most importantly the solid section with the shield emblem. Random pixels stay on immediately after it decharges.

People have been trying to do them for like a year now, they are so boring. I like the Halo 1 HUD better anyways...

Yea i got pretty lazy and didn't want to trim the bottom but i might trim it some time in the future.

I always wanted to make a HUD so i decided to start by make the Halo 2 one cause theres lots of pictures and Echoranger449 in his HUD he said what stuff had to be edited to make a HUD. I'll make my own soon.

I made the bottom thinker cause the blue shield meter kept showing.

I work hard on this for 5 days one pixel line seems too thin, and the placing cause the white outline was always not on correctly so it took my 2 days to finally get it I tried about 20 times per day, and smoothening to edges were pretty easy but the bottom was pretty hard took me 3 hours.
I think this is my best mod so far. I'll update this in like 2 days.

Great Job! But the shield bar is too transparent and the font isn't right.

Ya sure i am cause i love modding and Halo 2 so i wanted to make Halo pc get as close as possible to halo 2 !(not halo CE.)

Are you saying i should darken the blue meter inside, or the white or possibly just both. And yes ty i like comments or rude ones but ill take them as comments and whats the font? the white out line if thats it. I'm fixing that.

You should darken both. And I don't know about the font but you can get fonts at dafont.com . And blue-ish font too but I don't know if its possible. Sorry if I was being rude. And my cousin is nagging me to use a emoticons for no reason what so ever. :?

I don't really like it, the meter isn't very appealing or that accurate to Halo 2's.
