Converting Trial mods to PC

I've seen a lot of conversions to trial, but not the other way around. Anyone know for sure? Do I just follow the tutorials in reverse?

I use HMC it converts them form trial to pc, pc to trial, ce to pc and pc to ce.

Really? I thought it was only between CE and PC. Let me go take a look around.

Edit: checked. the only map converter I can find converts CE to PC and vice versa.

i think your getting HMVC and HMC mixed up

HMVC - converts pc->ce vis versa

HMC - converts ce, pc, trial.

I think I found it on Halovicis. Couldn't find it here.

Edit: it's in scripting and programming. I think I downloaded that thing a long time ago, but had no idea what it did then. Heh.

Edit: tried to use it, but it does nothing to it: the modified date stays the same even.

Edit: found another program with the exact same name. Maybe this will work.

Edit: darn, mine won't convert. I guess I might as well give up on that

Edit: tried to convert a normal map to PC. Didn't work... let me check this out. It says a file is missing. According to my knowledge, that means some other program is hogging it from Halo PC when I run the map. I'll look into that.

The program only changes the header; it doesn't convert it to PC

it doesn't convert it, it only makes it editable in sparkedit and hht. I have sparkify which is easier. I just want to know if there is a method to convert trial maps to pc so that I can play them on pc.

guys, this is really easy. If you get one of those missing files errors, you probably don't have the specific ocx file called comdlg32.dll Its a file that you MUST HAVE! I don't know if its illegal or not, but I'm PRETTY sure it isn't. just google comdlg32.ocx and you should get it on the first few links. Then put it in C:\WINDOWS\System32\ and it should work. by the way, this is what you do if hmc doesn't work. I'll post hmc on a download and edit this post soon to show the link.

To my knowledge no. There is no defined way of using a trial mod on PC, or a full mod on trial. For those who keep talking about HMC all it does is change the header. I know from experience with demo (having written the mac equivalent of HMC) that a simple header change does not make it compatible. It's like people thinking that HMVC or HMC converts CE maps to be playable. It doesn't. They can just be read and edited.

how about converting the trial maps header to pc, opening it in hmt, batch extracting, then rebuilding over a normal BG. No idea what the differences are between trial and full but its worth a shot...
