Single player mods?
I am new to the boards and modding. I am sure you get this question alot but can I mod the single player game? I already beat it years ago on xbox but I want to tinker with it and do some crazy stuff. I downloaded the Halo CE only to find out that it is multiplayer. I do not have a fast internet connection so that is out. Can anyone point me in the right direction. I searched some but I couldnt find what i am looking for. Thank you!
ok...here is my set of modding tools (i didnt make them, just made a set.) its everything you need to get started modding...and modding singleplayer is very possible.
I was on c20 on one comp...then i got a new one...so i modded the game until i got to where i left off on the other computer...if that makes sense...
just scroll down to the bottom on hmt and mess around with the vehi and weap tags after you open a map
pack of modding tools
if you need further help me, patrickh or others will most likely help you
(me and patrickh try to help as much as we can)

Wow. Now i am REALLY lost. I attempted to mod the assult rifle but now it has a 900 max and only shoots single shots. I just wanted it to act like the fuel rod cannon. Is there a walkthrough? I want to make some superweapons, like a pistol with x14 zoom and rockets. Can I do that? Also How could I get the flamethrower in single player?
To do a projectile swap...
Go to [proj] in HMT (with the map open) and select whatever bullet you are putting over another projectile (in other words, if you are making the assualt rifle shoot fuel rod projectiles, then go to plasma cannon. If you are making the pistol shoot rockets, go to rockets.) Now, when you click weapons\plasma_cannon\plasma_cannon, a set of options and changeable stuff should appear in the righthand box. At the same time, in the top left corner, a box MIGHT come down that has the header, 'Tag Information'. In this box there are 5 black boxes. In the area that they are, you will notice a number/letter set. An example is '65A4A96' (note: that is not the number set to use, but just what you should look for)
That number set is called the 'Metadata'. All you have to do is highlight it, select 'Copy', and then look back to the left side of HMT. Select whatever gun you are making shoot Fuel Rods, (with the example earlier, Assault rifle shooting fuel rods, you will want the tag 'weapons\assaultrifle\bullet'.)
Open the tag by clicking it and go up to the tag's metadata (the number you copied earlier). It is different from the plasma cannon projectile's metadata. Simply paste the copied metadata from the Plasma Cannon over the Assault Rifle bullet's metadata and click Save.
Now your assault rifle should shoot fuel rods.
You can do this same process with any other weapons (needler->rockets; pistol->sniper bullets; etc)
To change the zoom, open the pistol tag in [weap]Weapons. On the right side of the screen, it should say 'Zoom Levels', as well as Min/Max zoom. If you want the pistol to have two different zoom levels, change Zoom Levels to 2 and Minimum zoom to X (X being the variable. Don't literally put X, but you can put any number. You can model it like the Sniper Rifle, and put x8 zoom by putting 8 in the box. Or you can just select something totally different. I advise not going past 15, because a scope would be utterly pointless being zoomed in that much lol.) and the same for Maximum zoom. If you just want it to zoom ONLY to 14, then put Zoom Levels at 1, and BOTH 'Minimum Zoom' and 'Maximum Zoom' to 14.
The way to get a flamethrower into the level is called PMI (Perfect Model Injection). However, this process is very hard for people new to modding, and its advised to learn more about HMT before attempting.

I must be stupid lol. Here is exactly what i did. I am trying to mod the assault rifle on pilar of autum (Map A10). I want it to shoot fuel rod bullets (as you know). So I opened up map D20 and I copyed the meta (the one you told me) then I closed that map and opened A10 again then selected the assault rifle and pasted the meta over the rifle's. Then I clicked save (the one right next to the meta box). Now when i try to run the game it says "gathering data" or something like that then the game will not load. Any ideas?

Blast radius of grenades: Go to the Damage tab [jpt], and find weapons/frag grenade/explosion (not shockwave).
Find boxes that say range, and range to, or something similar, it should be self explanatory once there.
Super jump: go to the Biped tab [bipd] and find cyborg (assuming you're doing a campaign map) Find jumping velocity and multiply it by 2 or 3.
To get a weapon into another level, you will have to PMI, I would get a feel for modding first and then find a tutorial on PMI (perfect model injection) in the tutorials section. Once you can get a drivable wraith into a MP map (probably the easiest PMI), then work on rebuilding SP maps (i believe there is a tutorial stickied in the tutorials section.
Also, get familiar with HHT as well as HMT, contrary to popular belief, it can be even easier than HMT. For example, the BEST way to swap projectiles is this: open a10.map in HHT, find weapons>assault rifle and click it. look through the dependencies until you find one that starts with 'proj'. click it, then use the dropdown box to select whatever projectile you now want. hit swap. The AR now shoots that projectile, and you can swap it back!
Try swapping other dependencies you notice.
Good luck
