Re: Mod of the Month Discussion
Oooh. I wanna be the guy on the right. Anyways I'm really digging this idea Scotty. I've always loved MOTM, and its been a great and friendly competition.ScottyGEE wrote: So without further talk, I thought a visual representation would be best:

So what exactly are your views on mod of the month?
I think that it should be brought back because it will produce a lot of amazing mods.
do yo want it back?
Hellzz yea
Do you want the same rules as last time? If no, what would you like to see changed?
Wasn't here for the original Mod of the Month, but I heard there used to be a lot of flaming. So I think that if someone flames they should be banned from MOTM for the next contest.
Do you think its needed?
Not really, but it would be fun.
What kind of rewards would you like to see put in place for the winner?
I truely don't care.

This sounds like a good idea, considering many modders are taking a break on h2 and all ready look towards h3.
There should be a section for great sp mods to, although size of patchs would be larger.
As for prizes, who doesnt want a cool sig?
You shouldnt offer to make a better skin or mod out of it though, cause its like a slap in the face after somone has worked so hard to make it the way they wanted. (just my opinion).

yarly it does... but the issue of large patches still remains...
I will do this if there is a server host who will host all motm submissions and winners. Or at least, will host current MOTM submissions but all MOTM winners.
I jsut want an easy to manage and view place for all MOTM stuff..That way theres no jumping through hoops and viruses and other stupid things to get a mod.

I think that MoTM winner should have hosting on halomods...lol. Thats the only "good" prize that I can think of, plus it weeds out, "bandwidth-wasters".
Tell me if I have got this wrong but couldn't a file larger than 10MB be hosted on halomods or is that an impossibility?
I point this at the fact that most new modding territory lies in SP maps so they are inherently larger.

ive spoken to the person who owns my server and they have kindly upped my storage space and bandwidth so i can host

well when i came to halo mods the mod of the month really wasnt too hot i like the idea of giving credit to the modder that did the best of that month then of mabey either 6 months or a year but what i would really want is to have a vote on what is the best i guess you could say advancment of the year
mostly because we have learned lots of new stuff like larger bsp's and revolutions in modding so if once a year we could bring up what helped halo2 out the most that would be cool jsut to give the credit to the modders who get overlooked for making either new programs or new ways of making halo2 funner and more interesting
