I fail to see anything important or worthwhile in this image. :|

Pistol looks like crap in H3... :/

(texture, mind, not the model. I think it's good they brought back the semi-original, to an extent)

I think bungie tried to put in the shininess to fool people into thinking the graphics are good. There is no HDR lighting nor are there real-time reflections. However, this is a beta, so that may change in the real game.

Oh, and about my picture, a few people had posted a while back that they wanted to know if bungie was going to put the sword on your back or on your leg like a pistol. So, I was answering their questions.

Wrong. And the real time reflections are running internally as we speak, but in the beta for performance reasons, they have dynamically updated cubemaps placed in regards to bsp portals.

Hell, the current rendering engine is calculating albedo, on top of the HDR.

There is the lighting silly...It is most prevailent in snowbound...go indoors to outdoors...Takes a bit to see all the beautiful detail yes?

The RTF was something I was dissapointed in, however I hope to see if implemented fully later as reflections is something I'm always amazed by...Just looke at the trailer...

Albedo as in the geographical term for the amount of solar radiation reflected by a surface? Or is this some fancy term for something technical in rendering engines. If it's not the latter, then why would they need to calculate that? Seems a bit unnecessary in my opinion!

Albedo as in:
Image
Percentage of reflected sun light in relation to various surface conditions of the earth.

It's light bouncing. It's why when you stand in a bright area with a red spartan, you can see a slight red tint in the shadows or on a wall.

Wait, water is less reflective than snow? Or am I reading the graph wrong?

Or do I have no idea what I'm talking about?

Wait, water is less reflective than snow?
Considering snow is lots of tiny ice crystals that makes sense.
Or atleast in my mind.
from CNN-
"i love water. i dont love drugs. i dont want drugs in my water..why on earth is hannah montana more important than this?"
