Re: (model) mini sniper *sweet*
When people usually go to this forum, they look for decent content, not something you made because you were bored, they don't want to see that. Next time post something worth looking at.afatsquirel13 wrote:Well i made this because i was bored and now i cant get it into my game i used misfit model 3d and have never used it before but so i f some one could help me put this ingame it would be appricated

Okay, how about rather than expressing our anger towards the guy because we don't see stuff that is up to par with us, we tell him, "It's a good start, and that, although it could use some improvement, you could definately be going somewhere with this..."?
I can't express in words how much it ticks me off to see people bash on someone because they don't like their work. Sure, it may be simple, but the guy obviously liked it, and he felt that maybe someone else would, too, so he posted it. Maybe he has never done model manipulation before, and this is the first one that he's done, so it's a little simple. We all have to start somewhere, you know.
HaloMods community, grow up. There are plenty of us here who act our age, so use us as an example, because a lot of you clearly don't. If you have nothing constructive to say, there is no need to waste your time typing and his time reading. He likes it, and that's all that matters. If you don't, though. Find some other forum to degrade someone for their work.
My Comments on the Weapon:
afatsquirel13, that could actually make a cool carbine or pistol, or even a compact assault rifle. I'd take off the scope, shorten the bar under the barrel, take off the bipod, and put the trigger back on there.

Um, no. I don't like it and I'm not going to lie that I do. So sorry, go be the internet police somewhere else.XBC-Requiem wrote:Okay, how about rather than expressing our anger towards the guy because we don't see stuff that is up to par with us, we tell him, "It's a good start, and that, although it could use some improvement, you could definately be going somewhere with this..."?

This is the crap I'm talking about:
As was stated, squirrel, with some more detail and a little more work, you could definately be onto something.

There is NO point in posting this. Serisously, what good reason do you have to post this? If you're going to tell him what he did wrong, the least you can do is tell him what he could do to make it right. If it's a bad idea, then tell him that in a polite way. It's really not that hard.Andrew_b wrote: yeah this model looks like...uh. well, nothing people would really want.
I never once said to lie about it. You have every right to not like it, because that's your opinion, and as a member of HaloMods, you are entitled to your own opinion. There is just no need to say that you don't like it if you're not going to help the guy out. It is a waste of the time taken to state that one doesn't like it, and it is a waste of his time, not to mention less than something to cheer him up, to read that someone doesn't like it, especially if they don't want to help him out.Leiukemia wrote: Um, no. See? Even though he didn't like it, he stated that it needs more details. Although afatsquirel13 may not be happy that thepimp360 did not like it, at least thepimp360 informed him what he could have done better.thepimp360 wrote: The model looks ok but it isnt so good.........some more details needed and better pics....

im going to play the devils advocate here.
first of all, if you are going to post anything at halomods you should be aware that by doing so you are subject to any comments positive or negative at the other members discretion.
there are entirely too many sh**ty mods in the halo pc forums, people should learn one way or another that making a few minor adjustments and posting it as a mod a waste of forum space, the 2 minutes of my life it took to write this, and bumps a good mod that somebody worked hard on to the bottom of the forum
as for the rifle, i say that it needs some more work, and i understand that its no fun to work on a mod and have people leave allot of negative criticism about it, but take what you can from them and dont worry about the rest. people on this forum are brutal...

in the same post you say that as a member of halomods everyone is entitled to there opinion, then you say that his is pointless, it his still his opinion helpful or not.XBC-Requiem wrote:You have every right to not like it, because that's your opinion, and as a member of HaloMods, you are entitled to your own opinion. Yes, I did say that, and I now realize how poorly I constructed that sentence.R.O.U.S. wrote:in the same post you say that as a member of halomods everyone is entitled to there opinion, then you say that his is pointless, it his still his opinion helpful or not.
My intended message was that yes, everyone can have an opinion, but there is no point in stating your opinion if it isn't going to give him positive reinforcement. Telling him that it sucks doesn't help, because it doesn't state what he could do to improve it.
(Ohohoh, idea...)
Give it a higher rate of fire (about the same as the pistol), give it an 11-round magazine or so, but decrease its accuracy. That way, it's still got your sniper rounds, but it's more balanced, and acts more like a pistol (Since that seems to be what you're going for).

So a carbine. Not a sniper rifle anymore that thing. And by the way, this isn't the help section. If he only wants help on how to be positive he can post there. And I'd think it'd be help enough that nobody likes it for him to realize he needs to try again.XBC-Requiem wrote:Yes, I did say that, and I now realize how poorly I constructed that sentence.R.O.U.S. wrote:in the same post you say that as a member of halomods everyone is entitled to there opinion, then you say that his is pointless, it his still his opinion helpful or not.
