Ah. I was presenting two separate scenarios. The first, having no guns available was not related to the second, having them banned. I now see how it could be easily understood that they were linked. My apologies.

Not sure if someone already said this didn't feel like reading all 3 pages but take the 18th Amendment, which banned the consumption, production, and selling of Alcohol. This is was removed by the 21st Amendment, This repealed the 18th.

The 18th Amendment is not part of the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights includes the first 10 Amendments.

Anyway, I think guns are all fine, it's mostly the mentality of the people behind them. You didn't see people running around much with guns killing people prior to the time we had a saturation to violence in things like the media, I'm sad to say. And no, I don't mean that nobody killed each other before Pulp Fiction, it's just that there is undeniably a higher frequency of larger killings lately.

No matter how illegal guns are, people who really, really want them (mainly criminals) will still be able to get them. The average, law-abiding Joe on the other hand, won't. What happens then? More shootings, robberies, abductions, etc. because nobody can defend themselves. Not to mention the ruination of perfectly good sports (shooting, hunting [for food, but that's another issue], etc.).

As the saying goes, it's not guns that kill people. It's people that kill people. Ban guns, and they'll use a knife. Ban knives, they'll use a shovel. Ban whatever the hell else you can think of, they'll find something and use that instead. Banning guns makes about as much sense as banning paper because you might be able to superficially cut people with it.

Like someone already stated, taking away guns...would still leave knives. I live in a small town south of Baton Rouge Louisana. In this small town with a population less than 5000, someone at our Popeyes was killed. The killer wanted to kill his ex wife who worked there. He had a gun... (also by the way, this is what I heard...this is 1 mile from where I live and not even 1 block from where I work) and he shot at her and supposedly missed..then teh gun jammed. Guess what: Backup plan. Pulled out a butcher's knife and almost severed her head completely. They caught him...he's not going to live long. So...guns = illegal = phale.

we had a shooting at a carls junior last september. highschool students and a sawed off shotgun were involved. im not sure if anybody died though. and i think if guns were taken away, pipe bombs and chemistry would be used more than knives.
