Theres just one thing. The fact that the bottom is more darker than the top in areas than the top just looks weird to me. But honestly, thats probably just me, i bet no one else will have that problem with it.
>_> I got to say, this is kind of terrible. You've got the right idea, but it looks you thought either too much, or too little about what you were going to do. I've made dozens of splash screens for clients and myself. I could show you a few pointers if needed. I'm not saying I'm better, but I've been making this sort of thing for years, and I think I've got the system right.
I agree...it doesn't really make much sense compositionally, and seems very undercontrasted. The whole grey box->black background looks kinda odd, and the gradient on the grey is...odd (I'd assume that's the Safe for Web colors though). There's also kind of an overuse of the outer glow style, and the whole thing in general seems slapped together. I don't really know exactly why, but I really just don't like it...it's artistically unattractive.
Thank you for the constructive comments. I agree; I personally did not like this much at all. I tried something new with the abstract render, and it just turned out ugly and undercontrasted. Again, thanks for your comments. I'll try another splash next weekend and see if I can come up with something better.
