New map from scratch

Does anyine know how to make a new map from scratch?
I've seen some in the download sec and I was just wondering the prosses and what you need to do this.

It isn't possible as of yet. If you mean mach mods, you spawn machs through the netgame equipment.

well i think a group of people should try it. i mean we have programs upon programs. its likely possible i mean 2 years ago did we think we could add water or weather to a map that didnt have it.

I don't know enough about raw, so I don't want to try it. I don't think anyone around here knows anything about Halo 2 animation raw...

exactly, noones has cared that much to do this. I mean look at CE modders, they are way better than us. im not saying we are bad modders, im just saying we can do better

ce modders are handed everything on a plater, we have to figure it all out...so they are better how?

thats what im saying, we haven't figured it all out yet, and we are capable of doing it. so their fore CE modders are better than us.

The entity source does have something, it was just never put to use.

i think maybe i could do it. cus i figured everything i know about modding myself cus i just got the internet 3 weeks a go and ive been modding for like 4 months i downloaded the stuff at school and put it on a disc and brought it home.

Sorry. Four months of experience probably wont tell you everything you need to know about the map structure, considering how much is still yet to be discovered.

same here, once that vista happens we could make BSP's and put them to our xbox's

how can you say that? are you going to make a app to do it? because its not just going to work by ftping your map...

Agreed, the graphic's arnt the same and there is gunna be alot of differance so there will need to be a conversion app or a complete rebuild of the halo 2 vista map editor so yea.

Considering Halo 2 vista will be running on live, it may very well mean that M$ is going to allow user created content on live. They certainly could set it up to allow user created content on H2 xbox as well.

I'm just going to say, halo 2 modding is going to collapse after the release of halo 3.

maybe for vista, but for xbox it will never happen because that would mean that they support xbox modification and they don't
