This has been answered many times but here's how to do it.

Create a .txt file in your halo ce root directory. Then open it up put

Code: Select all

command.com
In it. Then save it as

Code: Select all

[w/e you want to call it].bat
open it up then type

Code: Select all

tool [command]
Hope that helps.

Double clicking on tool.exe won't do anything, because you need to run it from the Windows Command prompt.

Quickest explanation:

Start, Run. Type: cmd
Press Enter

Type this if you installed Halo CE with the default directory location/name:

cd c:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\tool

Press Enter

You'll see a list of all the command syntaxes tool uses. These are used to edit your Halo content.

or create a shortcut to the command prompt, and edit the shortcut properties to tell it to "Start in:" your HCE installation folder.

here's a screenshot of my tool shortcut properties

this makes it wayyy more convenient :)

yea, im definitely playing halo ce on windows 95. also i dont think it was called cmd.exe in 95. and the compatibility tab would tell you its most likely XP. so there's your answer. XP. i dont like rounded edges or pretty colors. XP + Windows Classic + TCLOCK > default XP.

and here... for your viewing pleasure:

Or just copy command prompt into your CE directory, its easier then typing CD blah blah to change the directory each time.
Sig over height, width, and file size limits.
