How to change explosions.
How to change explosions.
Okay Ang88 asked me too...So I will..
P.S. If everyone likes it a sticky would be nice...
First heres what you need:
HMT3
You might need a plugin, but since I feel like being nice...Here is my entire plugin file(I have all of them I think): http://www.angelfire.com/dragon2/templar2/plugins.zip
And thats it. Okay here goes:
We'll mod the tank explosion on Blood Gulch.
1. Open up Bloodgulch.map in HMT3
2. In the Resource Browser scroll down to [pctl] Particle System
3. Open up that little menu and click the first option, vehicles\scorpion\shell explosion.
4. After you have done that you'll see some boxes over on the right side, well lets make the explosion bigger...
5. Change the 'Explosion Size' from 1 to 4.
6. After that is done lets make it flicker different, change 'Smoke Flicker(Slow)' to 10 and leave 'Smoke Flicker(Quick)' alone.
7. After you have done that change 'Rapid Color Changing' to 9.
8. Now lets make it this cool smoke effects last longer, change the 'Smoke Life' from 1.5 to 190.
I hope you guys enjoy this...

Dudes, tell you what ... it might not be as fast, but you can just download and install a build of apache, and run your website from your own computer...then you have as much space as your hard drive has, and unlimited bandwidth, although only as fast as your connection.
No ads, no bandwidth restrictions, no problem hotlinking images, custom error pages etc etc
Either that or FTP server running from your machine...

its a simple webserver program, mostly works on ini config. You can have your own custom error pages, like 403: unauthorised, 500: internal server error etc. If you also install the php and mysql redistributables you can write or install php scripts that do anything from accessing a database to emailing contents of a web form to you.
You'd need an SMTP server for that, which can also be installed on your machine but you need to be careful, some ISP's (like mine, blueyonder) block such software use...it auto gets reported to the ISP's abuse address, but you will see it in the list of emails going off...they do it to cut back on SPAM, cos obviously thats how they do it, cos its really easy to type in a fake email address in the from field...
EDIT: And if you don't know, you can get a free redirect service from www.no-ip.com - it even provides you with a program so that when your ISP changes your IP it auto updates their end, so your computer can be found at the same address everytime.
Even works for things like when you want to run an ftp server, instead of your IP you put in your no-ip.com address..
