Blade Help

Is there any way to stop you from dropping the your Energy Blade when using it and can you make both blades usable.

no bc there is no animation for the left hand blade

That's not the reason...

The energy blade is a melee weapon so whenever you melee you're forced to drop your secondary weapon. You can't make both blades usable for probably the reason above and the fact that there is no "L trigger for melee attack."

i saw a mod where you didnt drop the 2nd sword, but its animation was screwed up.

what do you mean impossible. Can't custom animations currently be made? Wouldn't that mean converting the sword to be used in that way wouldn't take that much work?

In TBezzie's Campaign Mod, when I was dual-wielding Swords, I pressed R and they stayed.

I haven't played it in a while, but it is possible, I think.

It is possible, but then again, anything is.

The reason you drop it is because an attack with the Energy Sword is always a melee attack. When you melee, you drop your left weapon, as is true for ANY weapon in the game. And you can't attack with the left sword because you can't melee with your left-hand weapon.

Ok but if I were to add a projectile to the melee weapon I would still be able to shoot it right?

My only thoughts on this is a kind of complicated process...bear with me, and I cannot guarentee it'd work... Plus it doesn't allow you to use the lunge feature :?

Anyway, lets use the smg here...
Change the fp, 3p and animations and ndht (hud) to that of the sword's...
Then, make the smg have reloadable ammo...
give the smy a trigger delay of something like 1 second so you can only fire once every second
null out the smg's firing effects...
Then onto the projectile...
null out the contrail and all that jazz, make the range of the projectile very small so it only last for like 1 metre before disappearing change the jpt! to the swords jpt!
then make the animation for when you fire the gun, use the melee animation for the sword

I think I've covered everything that would be needed...Then once you play the game you'd pick up the "smg" which is now a sword, you can now kind of use it like normal, able to swing it and kill like normal...
then you can also dual wield the sword and use it because you are not actually using melee, you are just firing a weapon using the sword's melee animation and applying the sword's damage to the enemy...

Like I said, it may not work and it may not feel nearly as kool as having the normal, lunging sword but you may get some sort of satisfaction holding two sowrds at once and swinging them both around like crazy :P

I think there is something in the game somewhere that will let you keep it. Im basing this on the beta level that bungie showed. They showed duel smgs that did drop when he used the turret or swapped weapons. Then again that could have also been just one gun that used two smg models.
