Right now I only mod old maps but I'd love to mod the new. The problem is this-
I can't just slap a old map in my halo 2 folder thats ON my xbox, and play it like that. It plays the one that's in my TData (or U I forget.)
So I was wondering if there was a way I could have my version of halo 2 thats on my harddrive, play new maps in the maps folder instead of my XBL ones because I dont mod on live and dont want to. Ill forget to replace my maps too, and sign on with em modded so I don't wanna risk it.
Thanks!

Then add it to the mainmenu map list. That way you NEVER have to modify the TDATA maps and you'll be safe.
Search around the H2 tutorials section if you need an "Add maps to menu" tut.

Snave made this for the mainmenu a while ago, just apply it to the mainmenu using serenity

Quick question now...I applied the Serenity patch, which worked, but since the AU is active on my halo 2 on my hd, all the maps show up 2 times. Any way I can change that to make it only the ones I want for modding?
I know I can use Yelo to disable the AU, but is there anything else I can use to disable it for modding, and then turn that off to go on live?

Hex edit the default.xbe. There should be a "$c" and "$u" somewhere in there. Just change those and it should ignore the autoupdate and dlc. That way, it will only do that when you boot Halo 2 from your hdd.

If there is a problem on the forums, message me through IRC, AIM, or through PM.
