On that note, do you think it will have to be "charged up" or you will be able to use it right when the game starts?Tural wrote: Correct. It is not displayed as a grenade on the HUD. It was a long, long time ago, but in recent images, it is not. Only frag, plasma, and spike grenades are shown now. Also, being a standard grenade type would be unbelievably unbalanced. You would be able to pick them up from other people, and could go through a whole game just using those, never getting hit. This is why it is only balanced if used, say, once. Such as a special feature, like the X button. Self-destruct wouldn't help you if you were losing, it would hinder you.

Bungie specifically said that everything is subject to change, and recent images show that it is not there. It is not a grenade type.black_scorp wrote:it has to be sprint. on a screen shot from the et tu brute? film there was a pic of the HUD with 4 grenades. That 4th shaped like shield.
Again, sprinting isn't something you activate, nor does it have anything to do with doing well in a game.
i think "big ass mortor gun" means man cannon and "warthog drop off" means where sum1 jumps out of a hog to run into the base and pick up the falg and come back to warty and then to scorezoneThe Loaded Gun wrote:maybe the "X" button calls for reinforcements? or a mortar or something, i remember a picture that had a mortar in the sketch plans
Edit: 1 up.com pic
also take note of it says "warthog dropoff", maybe a pelican LZ?

That is the mortar launcher described in the image, this is a man cannon:

hey you guys i know this is a huge bump, however old the topic, i was reading the bungie.net forums on the "X" button and i stumbled onto the best "real", "X" button theory:

It would make sence, to melee with the left gun you press "X", and to melee with the right gun you press "B"Still Langley wrote:Melee with your left hand? I hope there's some way in Halo 3 to melee without dropping your dual wielded gun. This way you could pound someone with both hands making melee fights more interesting!

Maybe the X button discharge your shield to activate the spherical shield just for many seconds(like on the halo 3 trailer) to survive to a rocket or a wraith shoot but after that spheircal shield you are "no shield" so you have to wait the shield reload again.
Or your spehrical shield get loaded after picking an overshield or it takes some time to load so if you survive enought time you can use that shperical shield.
Just some ideas xD,that would be cool
and also a balanced gameplay.

No. That's not something that "activates" and it has nothing to do with winning or losing. Read the 1up quote I've posted a few times.1nevitablEnd wrote:hey you guys i know this is a huge bump, however old the topic, i was reading the bungie.net forums on the "X" button and i stumbled onto the best "real", "X" button theory:It would make sence, to melee with the left gun you press "X", and to melee with the right gun you press "B"Still Langley wrote:Melee with your left hand? is it possible that you can pick up the health packs not use them and then use the x button to activate the health pack?
