The terrain bit of this piece is so small it seems almost insignificant. I don't see a point to it other than to allow this to be called "terraspace". It's incredibly basic and doesn't look like it has much (if any) custom material work.

The light rays on the terrain (on the bottom/left kinda) look out of place.

The boat and hang glider are very awkwardly placed, stand out, and just look bad altogether. The planet's moon seems small, and to me, looks like something you added last second to make it feel less empty. Also, I think the shadow on the major planet is a little big.

The whole piece is under contrasted too...green is quite an ugly color in such large quantities.

Nice try though.

All of these space scenes look virtually the same after seeing so many. The "props" seem very out of place and the land itself looks sub-par.

Lose the sailboat and hang glider :? . In the far back left on the terrain, there are a few mountains that just don't blend in right due to fog/visibility. Land looks a little too sharpened to mix with the rest of the scene IMO.
I like the green though. When you use it in a piece and keep it constant, it looks fine.
Hell, it's still better than I could do

Try researching Da Vinci's concept of sfumato on Wikipedia. Knowing the technique comes in handy when trying to blend landscapes into skies.

Your space part of it just looks like it's looking at stars through clouds. Notice in the one you were going for, the difference in lighting on the planet, you can see half the planet and it looks good. Regardless of the light source, it looks better than having 95% of the planet dark, with the edges visible.

As well, notice in the one you were shooting for that the starfield isn't just stars with some clouds, there's a LOT of effort put into the starfield. I'd say bump up the amount of time spent on the starfield itself, maybe 2-3 hours for you, to a week's worth of effort, and really pump out some good stuff.

Regardless, this is your best work yet.

8/10.

Thanks for the comments again. I edited it, bumped up the contrast, and improved the planet

@Ravnz: Wow, that's helpfull, I'll try to make it more gradual.

@Zoolaner: Yeah I think this is the most effort I've but into stars.

Looks a bit better.
- I think you overdid it on the lighting on the planet. I don't like how I can see the light all the way on the opposite side of where the light source is.
- That little chunk of land coming out of the water (left side of the lake) sticks out a bit.

It looks pretty good but the thing is the landscape doesn't seem to go well with the space scene.

You might as well draw a 20 pixel red line from where the terragen and the space scene meet, it won't make a difference in how well the two are blended together.
