Do you mean Halo 2 shaders, 3Ds Max shaders, or whatever?

well, I wanted to know how the game engine knew what texture to use as a base, because it lists all the textures inside the resources, but I can't really make out if its in a special order. I needed to figure out what texture it used to render... well I found inside one of the other reflexives

:D

Well you need to be more specific about the shaders...I don't know too much really but I can change them to have things like detail, reflection and whatever else maps on them, and making them shiny and stuff...But hardly anything in detail...

I have learned a thing or two about shaders, but I don't understand what you're asking. Feel free to PM me, ask here, or ask me on MSN.

I'll just throw this out there but i'm guessing what he's asking for is how the game knows what shader's to apply to what surface/texture/model. Since there is a list of them, he's asking if they are in a pre-defined list that the game may be using in a specific order.

Wait, you where just wanting to know which was the primary basemap? It should be the first bitmap reference in the bitmaps tag block (offset 16) in the shader tag.

If you want to know how to do technical stuff with shaders then i can help but you need to be more specific in your question.

heh now you tell me :P

well lastnight I finially had some more time to look into it and I did find the primary basemap

The reason I did'nt want to get specific as in what exactly I was looking for is because I want to know everything that you guys know about shaders. If I limited it to the basemap then well thats all I woulda gotten info on even though I have figured that out as showed in that pic I posted.

Another thing I would like otknow is how does it know what order to apply the textures, it seems in the the resoruces that the bump always comes first if there is one.

oh btw sometimes the basemap is null and I take the first bitmap in the resource reflexive, is that wrong?

thanks

p.s. dont forget I want to know everything thats why I didnt get specific :P
