Dear Microsoft Employee,
I recently purchased the Halo Video Game for the PC. I was informed via E-mail and Telephone about a program called HEK allowing gamers to create new levels, weapons, etc. for Halo PC coming shortly after the release of the game. Along with many other gamers, I am very dissapointed at the non-release of HEK. After waiting this long for the program, I am willing to pay for HEK. There have been many online petitions for the HEK but Microsoft has ignored them all. Please give me information to give to other gamers about HEK.
Thank you,
Tyler M. Frye

Alpana - A Real Person?
I would imagine that Alpana is a real person (although that may not be their real name). Here's why I think that:HunterXI wrote:it was; it was simply sent at the click of a button by this "alpana".dioxideC wrote:is it just me or does that email sound asif it was auto-generated by a computer? things like "I understand that you would like to Halo Editing Kit to be released soon" and other consistent grammar errors throughout make it soung asif some program chose key words and just made that up.

For the past several years I have worked in the outsourced customer service and support industry - mostly e-mail, chat and call center support. My company does support out of the same country that does 98% of MS support: India.
Also, the grammar and sentence structure in this e-mail is slightly-better-than-average English for a 1st-level support technician in India. It is slightly clunky, and has some missing verbs and prepositions here and there. I deal with this stuff all-too-frequently in my job. See the first sentence under the introduction: "I understand that you would like to Halo Editing Kit to be released soon."
Whereas if it was auto-generated, the script would have near-perfect sentence structure, although it might not be 100% relevant to the original question.
I would imagine that people started e-mailing MS about this issue several months ago, and after seeing it come up 20 or so times, they took the time to write an article about the topic (or at least, identified another article that fits the same type of issue in a general sense - unreleased fixes / updates).
When this e-mail arrived, Alpana searched for 'HEK' and / or 'Halo' in her knowledgebase, and this article popped up. Alpana wrote the second paragraph personally (the introduction is auto-filled, along with the signature). The rest is a copy and paste job.
Anyway, if it's any consolation, spamming Microsoft will at least raise their support costs in the short term:)
Peace,
-David

yeah, that is just a stock reply. if you want to get anywhere you have to email them repeatedly and say that if they are going to reply they better not waste your time with a stock letter. They used to use stock scripts for things such as "make your own scooby doo mystery starring-YOU!!!"
i suggest you type up an email, just one, word it very carefully, have someone look over it so you make sure you sound professional, email it to as many microsoft email addeys as you can, and append it with assloads of sigs.

We should all spam them email, they deserve it!!!
God Damnit, I bought Halo for PC thinking I could do all the fun shit I do in Starcraft (Take like 10 minutes to make a map/mod that would be fun for all my friends to play)
LOL, the only worry I have is that they'll charge us money for HEK, then I would literally go crazy!!
