So I ask you, how does something thats existence is not known generate hype?
Its existence is known, otherwise we wouldn't be here, in a thread that was filled with alpha pictures.
Not to mention... he never said it was supposed to generate hype, he said that it did regardless.
In that case, he's right.

They purposely leaked those pictures too, obviously.
They also announced they were going to be having an Internal Network Test for all Microsoft employees publicly on Bungie.net, too.

Note: I fixed your quote tags.

A few things about Halo 3:

- If alpha was for all this internal testing, how many people had it?
- Why was the pre-alpha given to soldiers in Iraq on around 20 TV's? Where they stress testing it with 20 people?

The starting alpha games were played on debug servers, doing what you say? debugging, yeah.

Then it was released a little more publicly and played on public servers with Bungie and friends special thing, with no reason why.

Then the announced more about the Beta and that it was going to be used for stress testing servers more than getting feedback from actual players.

So wouldn't they use a small alpha to generate feedback about the game instead of some huge Beta with thousands of random people playing?

I'll await your arguments.

No, actually, you won't. You'll stop instigating and keep it to PM, like I said.

: O

I was just watching The Fifth Element (hilarious movie), and they have this grenade / explosive that looks exactly like a spike grenade.
I has a handle, and an oblong rounded head with spikes on it, and it's about the same size.

We've been over the reasons why in the last page or two. The alpha pics you see were strictly for network testing and not for prettyness. Now I'm not saying Halo 3 will look better than GoW when it ships, because Halo has it's own style. It will look much better during the public beta and even better towards release.

yes thats true. either im not going to discuss that because everyone has its own opinion about how games should be.
My opinion is simply that Halo3 should have at least as graphics as Gears of War, since the 360 has enough power to "let it have good graphics".Why dont use the resources are availible.

So far i read alot of those Bungie weekly updates and knowing that the enviroment is partly destroable / can be influenced by the weapons makes me feel excited about halo3.
I cant wait play the halo3 beta at the end of this month ( Yay im a beta tester, whos not? -_- ) .

To anyone else who posts the halo3 pics in this topic, thanks since i kinda made this my favourites when looking for halo3 pics =)

as in everytime english isnt my primary language so excuse grammar/typing errors.

Spring begins and ends in 11 days' time?

In Spring doesn't mean at the start of Spring.

There is no official release date for the beta. It could be in 7 days, it could be in 90.
