i just bought an S-Video cable for my computer and is hooked up to my tv so i can play computer games on it with my 360 controller. Well I need help. I have an NVIDIA GeForce 5500 fx video card and i am trying to get this working. I have it on Clone mode because all the others don't have the desktop on. Just my background...But it has the Pan view thing which i do not like.
This is what i would like to have.
On my computer have the defaults i have already and on the TV make it fit the whole screen without pan. How would i go about doing that? I am really confused on how.
also when i 1st turn on my computer on the TV it has the right view on wiht an exact copy. But when it goes to the log in screen for me to log on it loses signal.

Change the resolution of the TV monitor. Do this by moving over to the monitor and right clicking, click properties, and then screen resolution. A Normal TV is usually 640x480, HDTVs are different. If that doesn't work try downloading your latest video drivers from the website, and go into the NVIDIA program and change it from there.

blam. I played halo fine on the clone display. Also i will use this to watch movies that i have downloaded which i have got to work also. I am now using dual view but can anyone help me with games? to make them be able to show up on the tv's screen besides the monitors?iGeo wrote:I thought Standard Definition was 640x480 (4:3)![]()
If my assumptions are correct, you need to be at that resolution for your whole desktop to appear. Personally, I think you're wasting your time... games will not look good at that low resolution, get an LCD TV with a VGA input.

It should work fine as long as it's on a "mirror" mode...also try hooking it up so that only your TV is connected, that's what I did with my TV and it worked better than having them dual.
I'm confused about resolution though, I've got a non-HDTV and it will only accept 1024x768...but it looks BETTER than my HDTV that supports 1024x768 as well. Hax?

Makes sense.iGeo wrote:Well SD looks better on a CRT SD set then it does on a HD set... especially if you go above 27" as it's stretching a 480i input to it's native resolution; probably 1920x1080i
Ohhh, yeah. I had that problem as well...had to edit the config files because I didn't want to run my tower back upstairs.iGeo wrote:Make sure your games are set to run at 640x480 aswell then, as the resolution for games varies from title to title.
