I'm trying to do a gap year where I go abroad. I can choose from:

Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Ghana, Honduras, Hong Kong, Hungary, Icelan, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Malaysia, Netherlands, Norway, NEw Zealand, Panama, Paraguay, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, or Turkey

I have three choices and have already chosen argentina/brazil as my first/second. I need some input.

Japan. Tokyo is weird but interesting. It's cold in winter(Snows :P) and Summer it gets tropical. Not to mention, it's been seriously Americanized in recent years, especially on the east coast and southern Japan, so It'd be easier to deal with.

Not Australia, we don't accept people like you ;)
It was generally always nice and warm here...With a chance of it happening in winter (our winter is your summer so you can schedule your trip so you get summer the whole time)...
I unfortunatley consider Australia to be a little America so you should be fine here also... But I would think it would be a differnt experience from where you're from.
We don't really have guns, so you wont be shot on your trip :P But that doesn't rule out that you'll die, because our wildlife is supposedly very sinister (But that's usually if you're walking around bare footed in our deserts our bushes [coz everyone likes to be in the bushes :?])... Family Guy showcases this the best, alligators are nothing compared to koala's the most evil and cunning bear ever.
New Zealand, Egypt and Russia is where I'd go...Very different things...Egypt probably being the least entertaining and most risky though.

Yay for new zealand! We're so cruisy down here man. I'ts such a nice pace for life, no hustle, no bustle. Just mates, fun, beach and partying.

Pretty much party and hang out with mates all week long and still have time to stay fit, do homework and use my computer. Life's great.

i'd personally pick japan, or italy. japan has a VERY wired culture, so if you're a japanophile/avid internet/computer user, you'll probably find it interesting. and Italy has so much history all around it's amazing! i mean, people in rome drive around the coliseum every freakin' day! how cool is that! plus, if you're near the mediterranean, i believe it's a very beautiful coast.

Brazil, Australia, Thailand.
Brazil because it's a pretty cool place with some diverse culture, but not too diverse. It also is generally warm there.

Australia because of it's amazing modders =p, and because it has some very nice weather and culture.

Thailand because my dad used to go there a lot and he said it was one of his favorite places to travel to. He said they have some very good and different food, and I love to try out new things.

You don't need to speak Italian to visit Italy. They'll speak with their hands.
