GMax chimp error

Post by genwhite »

I made my map in GMax because 3ds max is a little pricy, and once i finished it with all the textures and whatnot, i attached the map to frame, and used chimp to export. i followed the readme that came with chimp, but when i went to save the actual JMS file, i got an error that said this

MAXScript Rollout Handler Exception
--Runtime error: Feature not available: "createFile"

any help at all would be nice, thank you.

i know very little about gmax but i know alot about 3ds max and "maxscript" is 3ds max script.... maybe thats your problem? but since Gmax is made by autodesk it may not be your problem..

it could be a version compatability problem i would also take a look at that.

No, you have to read the read-me that comes with chimp, you have to uncheck "Create File", and do Stream With Listener. Then open up the grablistener chimp came with and save the thing in that as a .jms file. Then open up the jms file and delete everything before and including-----begin jms--- and delete everything and including ---end jms---

But I would recomend useing Blue Streak JMS exporter.. It is tons better. And gives you way less errors that chimp normally would.

Thats because you didn't open the JMS fil in notepad and delete

----begin chimp--- and everything before it

and

-----end chimp---- and anything after that.
