Halo 1 vs. Halo 2
Yes, sticking in halo 1 just seems more satisfying. I also agree with playing system link for halo1 was just more enjoyable as well.ScottyGEE wrote:Oh I also like in halo 1 where I could stick someone with the grenade from the other side of blood gulch...Hilarious... I don't care if its unrealistic, its FUN!

I honestly can't answer this.
Halo's Campaign was far superior, but the graphics aren't as good. (Though I prefer Halo's graphics to Halo 2's, for some unknown reason)
After you play H2 for a long period of time, Halo seems... slow. The walking speed, the vehicles etc, all seem very slow.
I can't decide. I prefer the Chiefs armour in H2, and the ODST's (even if they do only appear once, briefly)
Meh, I dunno.

They both are fairly weak, which makes the SMG so much worse because it's the only weapon you spawn with. The AR could be useful in some situations, but the SMG turns Halo 2 multiplayer into a contest of who can press the right trigger first.Kirk wrote:And the SMG isn't?Folkluv333 wrote:Agreed.ScottyGEE wrote:I always hated the Assault Rifle in Halo 1, I thought it was a weak excuse for a weapon
And the auto-aim thing in Halo 2 really hurt it. Halo 1 actually took skill to kill someone while sniping and with the pistol, Halo 2 made it too easy.
Violence is not the answer, it is the question. The answer is yes.

I have the exact same opinion. I was going to post that, until I saw your post, thanks for letting me steal your post Scotty ;o.ScottyGEE wrote:Halo 1's campaign is fantastic...The sounds and music was just awesome, so many memorable levels (essentially all before the swamp).
The Hog physics were outrageous and the fact that it was invincible made trying to get it in blood gulch bases with one grenade was always hilarious.
Halo 2 is good for its multiplayer, whilst I could get owned for it, it was just really really fun to play..Its customaisation and variety made it really fun to play with with friends... System link events went for many hours.
Oh and I always hated the Assault Rifle in Halo 1, I thought it was a weak excuse for a weapon, hardly an awesome feeling when wielding it like you get with the weapons in halo2 (bar the pp, magnum and smg)

Halo2 used the plasma pistol for nothing but dropping somebody with a br shot included. Look at it from the halo1 stand point. You could actually utilize it being it stunned poeple and you ran up and smacked em in the face. They ruined it completely in 2. Plus in 1, you couldn't pull the pp and headshot combo. The pistol kept that on the d/l. You could pull 3 headshots before the plasma pistol even hit you... The magnum was actually a good weapon at the beginning of halo 2. When used with the smg it would rock people. Now with the update the magnum is almost completely useless. Atleast by itself... For the most part, nobody uses it much when not needed. I won't even go into the sword or the h2 shotgun...
hit or miss with the h2 shotgun is ridiculous...

I remember Waterworks games where 1 person could defend the base with just a Plasma Rifle (or SMG I suppose) and Magnum.kibito87 wrote:The magnum was actually a good weapon at the beginning of halo 2. I loved the combo, but looking back on it, it was kinda overpowered in the right hands.
Possibly, but every weapon is very easy to counter... You just have to know when to fight and when not to fight.
We were playing a zombie match (me and some local people). They camped a spot where there was one entrance that they could hold indefinitely if they wanted to (they had magnums, I had a sword). It was very easy to win...
All I had to do was simply wait until they got bored. I like to pride myself in my high amounts of patience... Of course, I have to deal with the somewhat annoying people on the other team screaming "OMG you suck at this game". Apparently a 5 person team with magnums vs a lone person with a sword is... fair? I'm supposed to be able to walk down a 50 ft (exaggeration) straight hallway and somehow reach the end when being hit by unblockable bullets?
So yes, the same applies to any game, with any gameplay. Just gotta be smart about it..

Rofl, I like Halo 1's graphics more than Halo 2's... I hate how they did Halo 2.RaVNzCRoFT wrote:For all you people comparing the graphics of the two games, Halo 1 came out in 2001. Halo 1's graphics in 2001 were like Gears of War's graphics nowadays. You can look back on Halo and say the graphics weren't great, but when the game was released six years ago, they were spectacular.

I've found an appreciation for both. Though I would like to see what halo 1 would look like if it were updated with better graphics. All the more fun to go back and play the single player again for the 50th time

I am very much like Mr Murder here, dual wielding magnums was a very skillful (not nearly as much AA as SMG) kill, getting 8 (I think it was) shots in the head was awesome, especially if your as trigger happy as me...GametagAeonFlux wrote:I remember Waterworks games where 1 person could defend the base with just a Plasma Rifle (or SMG I suppose) and Magnum.kibito87 wrote:The magnum was actually a good weapon at the beginning of halo 2. But the update...13 shots...IN THE FUCKING HEAD! to kill a person...Meaning you NEED another weapon with you...
One thing I dont get is the BR+ pp combo being way overpowered...plasma pistol plus magnum is even more pwoerful than that combo...Why? coz you don't have to switch weapons...Can take a person down in two shots, so easy...The headshot flag is enabled for both the magnum and the br.
I also liked in halo1 that STUN was actually used...In halo2, its there, but not used in any weapons...I loved to shoot someone with the PR so they slow down whilst trying to run away and then I'd catch up and smack em in the back.

As for graphics...Both are good, halo2's has its setbacks and stuff but I really like most of its graphical capabilities, even though most of them are dependent on the shader.
And yes for the halo1's graphics being awesome...They were and still are...The thing is, PC games hadn't even come out with games that had textures like that, it woo'd all kinds of gamers...Gameplay wise AND graphically wise...A rare combo now.
