anyways i was just thinking that the thing in the trailer looks alot like how the book describes the gateway in the centre of onyx. also that would make sense if it was the ark (as many people believe) because then the ark would protect the reclaimers from the halos and they wouldnt have to die!!!

Pretty sure the planet inside Onyx (the inside out one) is called the shield world. Most people believe the Ark is on Earth. Its on the announcement trailer after all.

Spartan IIIs probably won't be in Halo 3, since they mostly all died in GoO (Ghosts of Onyx). Don't you think after 3 waves of Spartan IIIs that the UNSC's ONI would figure out they're too expensive and that they always die on their big missions?

Popular belief is that it's the Ark, but you lead me to think of a rather interesting theory:

Maybe that thing in the trailer is the other side of the gate? Like maybe the shield world is where they were going to go, then activate the Halo(s), and then after they're done, go to Earth and restart life.

But that wouldn't really explain why the Covenant want it so much (like why there were so many ships there)...unless they reeeeeally wanted something from the shield world place.

maybe they know that the last of the "DEMONS" are hiding in there and thats why they want to get in
