Yep, the render doesn't seem to fit. It's too small and it just doesn't relate with the rest of the design scheme.

Theres nothing wrong with following a tut, but when your outcome comes out alot like the original, its not really uniqe, and makes me think you didnt do anything from what you know.

So, meh....
