Phantasy Star Universe

Post by GametagAeonFlux »

/me awaits 0 replies.

Anyone else here other than me play it? I'm an oooold school veteran, all the way back to the original Phantasy Star I-IV. :P

I rather like it, and for those wondering, there's an online demo available on the marketplace, but that is from pre-release, so there's a ton of spells+weapons+armors+jobs+quests missing. Really fun game and all, and as my sig says, I'd like to be able to get to play with some people from here...so yeah.

Discuss.

I was thinking about buying it... Is it free, or is there a monthly payment thing like WoW?

I'd probably buy it if there were no extra fees.

Well there is a $10 monthly fee...just skip the two extra value meals a month. ;x

It's because it's not run on Microsoft's Xbox Live servers, it's run on Sega's...so you can actually play online with an Xbox Live Silver account as long as you purchase the subscription.

I played it with trep, and it was fun for an afternoon. But after that, it seemed like we were doing the exact same thing over, and over, and over, and over.
I'm sure the full thing is pretty fun, but I'll stay with Final Fantasy XI. >_>

Hey guys, fight this worm.

NEED PARTY FOR WORM

USE THE )*%*!ING SPELL ON THE GOD $*@! WORM

I tried FFXI and thought it was way too repetitive. Trust me, the demo has like...1/10 the content of the full version (more missions so you don't have to do the same ones over and over...plus, it's more of a social game).

OMFG <3

That's exactly what FF is like. Takes up to an hour to get into a party, just to then have a White Mage disconnect, and bam, you're screwed looking for a White Mage.
Then...
"Uhh, guys? This Bat just aggro'd me."
"..."
"ZONE IT DAMMIT!! GOGOGO!"

that's what I heard about FFXI... so sadly.... that's the only FF game I havn't played (well... almost the only one... there's probably been 2 that's slipped by me)

I have PSU for the PC. The PC version can play with the PS2 version, and so there's a LOT of people online all the time.

The game does seem repetative, but if you get in a party, you can do other missions that require much higher skill levels. They release new content for this game every week

Then when you facter in synthing weapons, setting up your own shop to sell stuff to strangers, leveling your PM, and all that kind of stuff.... it doesn't really feel repetative at all.

I have Phantasy Star III, but that's the only old one I have besides PSO (Xbox and PC versions)

You play on the haxland server though. :(

PC/PS2's economy is notorious for the leaked S-Rank weapons and duplicated meseta...which explains why photons that go for 50 on 360 sell for 5k. :P

lol yea, I have a good 2+ million meseta... that's not the hard part of the game...

All the hackers and stuff really do suck ass though on here. PSO BB was so much fun because it wasn't hacked (I played the beta... BB is Blue Burst... the PC version). The economoy was fine and everyone was legit. That made it so much better in my opinion.
