Well, not everything is always fine and dandy in the world of bump mapping... sometimes generating Normal Maps with the NVIDIA photoshop plugin destroys image quality (a problem on MY end, not on the end of Aequitas. You're a champ, Aequitas). Here are examples:

And, for those who like the Magic Eye books, here's a semi-3d version for you (could have been better. Just cross your eyes so the images merge and you should see it. It's not the best, but that's because I took the picture from too far away.

I'll post pictures of good vehicles soon. These are just so you remember that I'm still human .

No, judging from the way you quoted me before saying it, would imply it was aimed at me.

What doesn't make sense is how you try to tell us that it isn't a shield we see in the commercial.

myriads_requiem, you haven't started an argument... we merely have conflicting opinions.

EDIT: I often have that problem with Normal Maps, there are several ways around it, however.

I never said that it wasn't a shield...
The only thing I dispelled of was that it was an apparent Grenade, which is in fact incorrect.

Is there a way to make bump maps extremely far out. Like so it actually makes the object bulge.

Why the hell did I type that?...

Wow.
I guess I wasn't typing what I was thinking. Excuse the massive contradictive logic in my past few posts, I spaced.
I literally went back to 161 to check that I actually wrote shield instead of Grenade. Oh well.

Bump maps only affect the normal of the polygonal geometry, it doesn't actually edit any transformation matrices.

Is there a way to change a bumps intensity?
Bungies bump maps seem to be very subtle while these custom ones are very drastic and you can tell theres an edit to the bump map instantly.

It is all dependent on the height used... they can easily be made to be identical to Bungies...

iGeo speaks the truth. The reason the bumps on the ghost seem way more intense is because inverted them. In other words, where they once were once "innies" they are now "outies."

Ah, I forgot to mention that I have a white outline on the skin along all the bumps. That helped it stand out even more. If I make "innies" for you here, I'll do them without the white lines.
