Full screen video through bluetooth headphones whilst using wifi to download files off the internets and then see how long the battery lasts.
So who's gettin' an iPhone?
I've used touch-screen devices before (the one I used most recently was a camera.. a camera, not a cell phone camera, mind...) and my only response was that it was awesome.. Way better than actual buttons IMO.
As for the iPhone, you guys are just whining that Apple is actually good at making things, while MS just plain sucks at it, to be brutally honest. Please shut the fuck up and get over it pls.

I instantly thought the same.ScottyGEE wrote:When was MS ever brought up?
Plus, there are touch screen phones here already, Samsungs I believe. I really don't see anything unique about this other than its branding, but I suppose that alone is enough to make it successful knowing todays world.
And I disagree Singing, I use almost, if not every feature my phone offers, on a very regular basis. I'd be lost if my phone had no camera, or walkman. Although it made me kinda mad, when I got an iPod then found out the phone I ordered had 1gb memory, and it was even branded "walkman"
Anyways, time will tell...

I'm with Kirk on this one. I saw the phone and first response was "whoa". Apple and Microsoft more or less market for different types of people, so there's not much of a debate there, and I wont allow one into this topic.
Back to the phone: I think it's pretty sweet, and I might buy it if I ever get the chance. I'll wait for the price to drop though.

I'm sold on the phone, though I am displeased it will be available to Cingular users only. It is an incredible piece of equipment, if you ask me. As for the fat people using it: if they struggle with this phone that includes the ability to identify intentional touch input from unintentional touch input, they sure as heck will struggle from any other cell phone out there.
This phone is the best looking, coolest, most functional phone I have ever seen. I want it, though I will never have: Cingular is unavailable where I live.

I personally will wait until the second revision...hopefully the price will drop and maybe some cool things will be added.
As for the people saying this is overpriced for a phone, you're absolutely right. Good thing this isn't a phone. It's in the class of Blackberrys and PDA-ish things. I like the Google Maps functionality on it, sounds just like a cool thing to play with.

It does look rather nice, I think its very well designed indeed, but only offering it on a network I have never heard of! That is rather frustrating when you live in a country like mine and now you could probably never get the phone... (Please correct me if I have misunderstood what 'cingular' is)
Oh, iGeo I was just saying that there are alot of useless small things added to phones these days than can boost the price alot and I think that is just strange. I can understand some peoples need for a camera and mp3 player, but some of the small features we can definitely go without.

The links in the first post have more than enough pictures...especially www.apple.comsharpshot2492 wrote:Does anyone have a pic of this?
They have a whole section on it there.
I hate the term "ipod-killer, the zune"... But I won't bother going into that discussion
Looking at it more, with a clear mind, it does appeal to me more. However in my opinion there is room for improvement, such as having an expandable memory...For something designed for a music and widescreen video, you'd want something larger than 8gb...However, an expandable memory slot would make the thing cost more...Another downside, in Australia, we'd be paying something like $800-900 for it (And thats just converted from a 2 year contract...we are not overrun by carriers so I'd expect it to cost $1,050 as it'd be unlocked...but we get it in '08 apparently)
As for it being locked to cingular...Unless it is specifically designed to run on cingular, it will be hacked. With products by Apple as popular as they are, it will be customised to suit other peoples needs (I'm just thinking this way due to the mass popularity of the RAZR and its h4cks).
So its a good phone, just too much for a big risk (scratches, fingerprints, and with such a large screen it could crack under pressure and finally if you drop it it may die for ever), that and your stuck with it for 2 years on a carrier that not too many seem to be fond of...
Probably just easier to buy a new iPod and a nokia n95

The DS has like a 'wand', why not use that here? iWand anyone?Ombre wrote:Question: How will the fat people use the touch screen? It's kind of hard to select something when your fingertip is bigger then the screen itself.
Hmm..
Windows - Mac
Zune - iPod
Windows enabled phone - iPhone
Xbox360 - ... the iBox???
I have reason to believe Apple may be trying to take over the entire world. The other day i walked into my kitchen to find my Microsoft utilities replaced with an iToaster, iFridge, and an iSandwich (yes they even I'ed the sandwiches). As you can see total domination has already begun. I.. I... I.... I..... I......
