yeah, the game can move sorta slow, but once you get started with side quests and guilds, it really picks up.
i'm on pc, and i've got a full-mage breton (sign of the mage birthsign and all that random stuff). level 9, but next time i sleep i'll be 10. anyways, i used to have blades armor enchanted with sigil stones, but it's been making it hard for me to carry a bunch of loot when i raid caves/ayleid ruins/oblivion gates, so i just stored that away in a chest in my house in anvil (benirus manor) and go with a white mages robe.
anyways, since i'm a mage, i'm in the mages guild and just got into the arcane university. evoker rank. my mage's staff does 40 shock damage, and i just made my own spell that does 10 shock damage within 10 feet of the target over 2 seconds. nothin' big, but it does what i need it to within a hit or two, and shooting lightning from my fingertips kicks ass.
and to anyone tthat wants to be a mage or be in the mages guild, the arcane university is ENTIRELY worth going to each city and getting a reccomendation. make your own spell, make your own enchanted item, and some pretty cool quests.

Yeah, my current Knight is level 11 I believe. I've got full enchanted Dwarven armor. It's not the best, but the Dwarven helmet is awesome looking. With the Knight I've finished the main quest, the arena, and I'm almost done with the Fighters guild.
My Mage is pretty awesome. He's level 26, with full enchanted glass armor. I've done the mage's, assassin's, and thieves' guild quests with him, as well as the arena. Just for fun, I made a spell called 'Annihilate' that does 100 shock damage, 100 fire damage, 100 frost damage, 100% weakness to magic, 100% weakness to shock, 100% weakness to fire, 100% weakness to frost, 34 absorb health, and soul trap. It drains all my magicka, but it's great when I only have one enemy (I used it to complete the arena quests in no time).

fitting name. as for me, i'm holding off on the main quest for a LONG time because i want to run through the oblivion gates a bunch and get all the loot there is in there. all the sigil stones mainly.The_Hushed_Casket wrote:Just for fun, I made a spell called 'Annihilate' that does 100 shock damage, 100 fire damage, 100 frost damage, 100% weakness to magic, 100% weakness to shock, 100% weakness to fire, 100% weakness to frost, 34 absorb health, and soul trap. and i'm in the thieves guild, just finished the bust on lythara quest. i've been exploring the sewers for 30 minutes, and i'm going to use what i've mapped to supply escape routes from when i raid stores in the imperial city. i've done under the bloodworks, under the market district, and probably about half the sewers.
and now that i've ditched the heavy blades armor for a mages robe, i've got an extra 100 weight i can use to haul out loot from dungeons, plus 50 weight of a ring i have, and a feather 50 spell. just picked up chillrend as a quest reward too. not the best weapon, but i like it's look.
oh, and today i just finished the unfair business quest or whatever. i've been failing it for a while now because i didn't know there was a trigger for when the shopkeeper meets the other guy, i just was hiding 25 feet away worried they'd see me and i'd fail the quest. >_<
oh, and my brother says he has a better spell than you, but he uses the console, so who cares.

i stopped playing this due to the killer vampires that i couldnt kill
but one of the things i remember is when i was with the king's son and some other old guy and he told us we should ride on horse to a safe location in the mountains.. i ran over to the horses and was the first one to get on and was acused of stealing

yeah, something you should learn fast is that red = bad. but then again, if you have good sneak, nobody sees you, and you have a fence to sell the stuff to, go ahead and steal to your heart's content. i recently nabbed 800 gold worth of stuff from the imperial city market district. glad i did recon in the market district sewers, too, they helped alot.

interesting, but i just usually wait until the shop's closed before i rob it. oh, and i did the shrine of nocturnal quest and got the skeleton key (unbrakable lockpick) so locks don't hinder me at all. if anyone's interesting, shrine of nocturnal is located north of leyawiin, on the east side of the niben, near fisherman's rock. it's not north of bravil, so if you're near there and haven't found it yet, head south.

On my 360 I have a Wood Elf Knight guy. I beat the Dark Brotherhood and the Mages Guild. I forget what lvl I am but its gotta be somewhere from 10+. I was a vampire for a while on there as well but I eventually got tired of it and cured it, will got back to it after I get father in the storyline. I <3 Dark Brotherhood though, the storyline with it was awesome.
EDIT: O and much <3 to the Skeleton Key!

Love it, dont play it much cause im addicted to FOC and 2142...
But i have a level 6 Khajit assassin, Hes pretty good but i really enjoy the part of the game where you have horses, You mainly have to travel to a place yourself inless you've never been, The new daedra god addons are pretty cool, And azura is as cool as ever = Favorite Daedra.
My other one is a level 2 Breton mage i believe, Just started on her but yeah all of the stuff you gotta do is WORTH it...
I still love the games story line and the endings battle =D.

I Bow To No Man
i believe i saw that somewhere, up to two players at the moment i believe, and no PvP, but the concept kicks ass.Damorian wrote:I have it for PC. The coolest thing I've found for it (not trying to advertise but I'd figure I'd post it) it was something called MultiTES and it was multiplayer for Oblivion. It was still in development and it might have died but you can look for it.
oh, and my main guy's a breton, not sure if i mentioned that or not. i guess i'm gonna go play after i post this, but i gotta take the dog out and do homework. anyways, for anyone starting out looking for making an awesome character, i say get to the point in the main quest where you are part of the blades, so you can get their armor and weapons, then stop doing the main quest, go do a bunch of side quests, join some guilds and run through ruins and caves and level. then, find oblivion gates and run through them. use the sigil stones to make some awesome equipment to tweak your character, and when your in the low teens level-wise, you should start getting enemies spawning with dwarven, elven, and glass stuff, good equipment.
anyways, once your satisfied with your abilities and gear, go do whatever you want. hold off on the main quest and do other things, or finish up the main quest because you need the closure, because that's what's great about this game, you can do basically whatever you want, like an open-world rpg.

i'm getting farther along in the mage's guild quests, and i must say, i'm surprised that mini-stories are this involving. the fact taht every person in the mage's guild talks about arch-mage traven and necromancy when you click "rumors" should've tipped me off that there's more there than "necromancers are badguys in caves". really, if you have the chance to get in the mage's guild (duh, it's not hard) it's entirely worth it, but only if you get to the arcane university.
once you're in the arcane university, the story picks up from there, and is the magnitude of the main story in a guild quests package. it's great to see they put effort into more than just the main story.
