He deserved it, hands down. I'm just sorry he didn't get a more brutal punishment. He was responsible for the deaths of thousands of people.

I think he DID deserve it, even though it was went about the wrong way. There is no way to change the fact that he was a horrible person and commited many crimes, even though I disagree with the way ANY politician is trying to fix Iraq.

I still find it odd...
"omg, because you killed innocent people we now have the right to kill you... And since you're guilty, it doesn't matter and we won't be bad people for it"

I guess I'm thinking about it wrong :P

By that logic, Bush would have to be executed as well.

Your exactly right. No one has the right to kill anyone. Just because someone killed someone doesn't give you the right to kill them. Yes, I'm one of the people who want to abolish the death penalty(considering most of the people even on death row just couldn't afford a decent lawyer and many as a result, innocent people get killed). I think a worse punishment is life in prison. The person then has to spend the rest of thier lives thinking about what they've done. Also I'm honestly ashamed of this community. Most of you have turned into your animalistic selfs with your lust for blood. Do you really need to see a man hung? Do you really want to see his last moments? And you all talk about how he should have had a more horrible death. What kind of people are you?

I'm going to make this clear right now.

There will be no discussion of, or links to any video or images of the execution. I have removed some prior posts. This thread is for discussion of the sentencing and man, not for you to drool over a video of a human's life being taken.

This decision is final. There will be no discussion of the video or images tolerated at all.

I am no blood thirsty animalistic idiot, and I do not believe in Capital Punishment; thank god it was abolished here in the '60's...

... but I feel Saddam Hussein deserved for his life to be taken; because I know a lot more of his crimes then most of the people here, that probably don't have a clue what he has done. Honestly, no offence but a lot of people here are like < 15 years old, and would not know of the atrocities he has caused and committed, these are the people that hear on TV that he is a bad man and like everyone else, they join the bandwagon, with no evidence of his bad doings... just somebody on TV saying it.

It's media. Kids see it on TV saying someone's bad, and they automatically go along with it... they don't need proof, if someone said it on TV then it must be true. =/

A prime example of this would be the recent, horrific murders not too far from me, where five prostitutes were brutally murdered in a Jack the Ripper style situation. One man was arrested for interrogation... the media blew it right outta the water; they advertised his myspce on national news where he received thousands of hate messages, causing it to eventually be closed... they exploited him and gave out information regarding his personal life... and wait, what's that? He's innocent? Oh well never mind, we only ruined his life.

The moral of my pointless story is kids; don't come on here and go "yeah omg leik kill him he diserved stupid fuckin saddam" when you probably have no idea of any crimes he has commited. Yes I know I do agree that he should be killed, but I know a little more about his crimes then a lot of you that just say "omg execute him coool"

And for the record, (aimed at Scotty and Locke) he was executed for the killings almost 25 years ago. If that doesn't justify executing him, they estimated something like he would be trialled for over 10 years for the hundreds of other crimes and murders he had commited as dictator of Iraq.

anyway he should have suffered more. he has given orders to exterminate an entire village, along with many children... hurting innocent children is the worst people can do in this world

I heard he wanted a firing squad for his death, instead he got a hanging.
It really doesn't matter, he was going to die anyway, hanging is as primitive and barbaric as the man they were killing.
I feel that if America didn't even invade Iraq, it would be better than it is today :|

If you live in Texas, you might have a different persepective because in our state, we enforce the death penalty

You kill, we kill you.
