Haha. Dude this is cool actually. Bungie uses alot of real world theories, places, etc etc. So I wouldn't be surprised if that is where they got the design for that ship. The forerunner architecture is seen throught the world of today. Just have to look

Eggs are things that are to be found out of the normal path of the game, so you don't normally see them. Which is their point...

Also, I'm not sure why everyone thinks Bungie got their idea from this building.
A tower supported by four beams isn't exactly a rarity on this planet, 'nor much of a stretch of the imagination.

It's not a hugely imaginative ship, but not alot of Forerunner stuff is super complex looking.
Also, when was the last time you saw a tower supported by four diagonal beams?
