Yes, no, kinda.-DeToX- wrote:Heh, dont know if its true.. But i remember hearing if you open your xbox you break your warranty... Though softmodding doesn't do anything to the warranty or something.... Probably not true but, heh, its what i heard... And again, MLG is *** for doing that...

I was actually gonna spam the MLG Forums real bad, kinda like Wes did to the User Forums. I just felt really bad for you Xbox, you are like a Hero to me in your Modding skills, I just had to do something. Fuckin' jerk off's at MLG,
Also, Modding your Xbox is not illegal, it's putting illegal stuff on it that is illegal, and then use it as your profit.

No really, it's fucking idiotic decisions like that that weaken someone's case and make them look incredibly bad by association.
Just... stop posting.

-Legendary- you go over to Bungie and explain what happened, we will wait here for you.
Nice knowin' ya
And I'm pretty sure modding the Xbox is legal here, unless you break copyright laws by distributing illicit copies of games etc, or make profit from modding xboxes, which makes sense really. Why put a law into effect that you cannot enforce? Silly American law, for starters the console belongs to you, so you can open and do what you want to do with it, it's yours. And secondly, how would they enforce a law about reverse engineering your xbox? Send the xbox police to everyones house to check the little seals at the bottom? lol/no.

I agree with Hawaiian's step dad... If xbox7887 was thinking he was going to be paid, he should have figured this out beforehand. There should have been some sort of contract. MLG might have thought he was just doing it out of charity. Did xbox7887 even mention something about rights and permissions to MLG? If no, then why should they worry? To them that means they basically own the program. These are things you need to work out beforehand.

And the pieces to do so are required in modifying it, no? Thus making it illegal. Last time I checked, modchips weren't even legal to sell...kibito87 wrote:Just to clear things up. The modifying of your xbox isn't the illegal part. It's the software and files used to do this with. Distributing of those files is the illegal part. I'm 99% positive it's not the actual modifying of your xbox though. Just recieving the pieces to do so is.

Still, if you did indeed get it worked out, good good as Veegie adequately put it.
Now, make me the mascot.
