Now that's what Im talking about!!!! My life's dream is that of spaceflight, or maybe just a fighter pilotDark Cloud wrote:Yea, it'd be pretty cool if you could walk around inside... take a look around inside of the Longsword in the models tab of SparkEdit. The inside is huge... totally detailed and everything because of the final cutscene in Halo... It's pretty cool how it's got a lower bay in it too...
Just imagine flying that from 1st person though... *drools* Redo the bitmaps and replace the windshields with black sections, and man... that be awesome...
Just hope radar is on though... x.x;

OH YEA!
*Gives an air-high-five to Sharkface*
That'd be so sweet! Increase the radius of your radar a bit, give the windshields and side windows 100% transparency, and give that thing limited missles and unlimited guns... And the have someone model some Seraph Fighters from Halo: First Strike into this game... my god, that'd be schweet! lol...
*drools more*
Someones gonna need a mop here soon...

And yeah, how do you do that, if I find out, I'm putting one in Ice Fields... and maybe if I find out how I'll get T&R (the ship) and paste over Gephyrophobia, put in the grav lift...and...
...ABSOLUTELY ASS-KICKING GAME!
But I dont think you can do that.
Why do people think the longsword is so big!
ITS EVEN SMALLER THAN THE PELICAN!
It's driveable, it already has a drivable seat.
And I drove it, in PoA.

Ok, I've looked at the longsword tons of times, and didn't even have to... Just by looking at the Longsword at the end of the Maw, you can easily tell that it is TONS bigger than the Pelican. The Pelican is tiny compared to this thing...
As for weaponry on this, the game never programmed any weapons into it, but according to Halo: First Strike somewhat, some machine guns and a bunch of rockets would be the main thing, sort of.

(and for all you n00bs out there the engine noise in the cutsean in THE MAW is a sound track) Other than that I think just flying it around freely in MP would be cool enough to make a famus mod on its own.
SOund is easy. Just play the cutscene on one computer and then record the sound on another computer. Or download the cutscene off web (H.B.O [not the tv network, stupid] might have it).

Eh, he probably hit Submit a few too many times in 56k. Notice how the posts are 3 minutes apart. Poor AOHellers... lagging every gosh darn Halo game...
And, I just remembered what someone said... the Longsword has no collision model, so unless you somehow managed to give it a collision model, you couldn't possibly walk inside of it without falling through...

no, he must've hit the button and it didnt say it posted but it did...ICEFIRE wrote:You would have to loop it. Wich would sound really stupid. And why did you double post?? You a spamer??
the easier way to record sound is get WMM 1 (absloutely not 2), and make Halo run in windowed mode. then just set it up to record sound, and change the input device to "stereo mix", or something like that. voila.

Remember... no collision model. You would be half above and half below the floor of it... lol...
But, that'd be awesome to have in the rocks! Have some of those in the little overhead areas where the rocket launchers/sniper rifles are... have some crashed ones up there, or above there... just for looks... *drools madly*
Cleanup in isle 8!

And the no sound part is most likely because sound can't travel in a vacuum such as space, which is where you see the LongSword most often.ICEFIRE wrote:It is much bigger than the peli. Yeah, I noticed that too. Also opened the Maw in SE and looked under models, went to "fighterbomber" and had a look...Kamatzu wrote:The Longsword has no collision model...so unless he can add one in it wouldnt bee all that much fun...and it would be at the blue base in a tenth of a second
ONE MAJOR PROBLEM. NO WAY IN. There is no hatch, door, or anything which will open and let you in. But the cockpit is quite nice. Huge, in fact. The cockpit seems BIGGER than a Pelican, and is split-level. There is a large door at the back of the cockpit, and then a path which leads straight ahead or down. If you go down the ramp, you come to a single control panel (no seat), and then another ramp leads up to the floor level of the top part. If you go straight for the cockpit, you'll pass what is either a cupboard/ammo locker/toilet/small galley (remembering these things can fly long distances), then emerge to a cavernous cockpit lined with displays, keyboards and control panels. Two seats, side by side, sit in the middle, each with a control sidestick and a display panel. There is actually no front window, just the side windows, so I suspect that large front panel is actually a display showing a map or camera view...
If only it had a collision model, you could put a 2-way teleport in...
Wait a minute, I think I've got some pics. Ahh, here we go:
