Couple things I need help with...

Post by STAEDTLER »

1. Replacing the warthog chaingun or gauss turrets with that of the scorpion AND be usable & visible in SL games with non-modders. [I've been trying for over a week]

2. Enable a warthog turret to act like the scorpion turret so that the driver can control it just like when driving the scorpion. Again, with the ability to be used and seen over SL with non-modders. [spent about 5 days]

3. An explanation on "Meta Faking". I have read like 3 tutorials and most conflict with each other OR there are steps that for one reason or another I can not perform. 1 definitive guide would be wikked appreciated. IE: How to meta fake as well as which weapons (including horn) are replaced by RL/PP.

4. In regards to meta faking, I noticed for some if not all weapons which have been faked, that there are often eith not enough dependencie tags to replace or that there are too many. What are we supposed to do? If say weapons A has 4 jpt tags but the RL only has 2, then what? just leave 2 out?

5. When meta fakeing, only swap dependencies? or loneid's as well?

You can't make mods visable to non-modders, sorry. (Well, there are a few exceptions like the rockets and PP, but nothing for what you're talking about, that I know of.)

You could, however, make the guass turret's projectiles visable and make it shoot tank bullets. Won't look the same, but it'll work the same.

yeah pretty much the only mods that non-modders can get anything out of are projectile swaps, high jumping(i think), they can see you run fast but i dont think they can, not sure, and you can move/add stuff to maps, and a few variations here and there. Its not much compared to what modders can see/do but you can make it lots of fun. Like I modded containment by adding lots of viechles. I called it WWIII. One side had 4 tanks, 4 hogs, and 4 banshees. The other had 4 wraithes, 2 ghosts, 2 spectras and 4 banshees. A heck of alot of fun with 16 ppl.
