Introducing: Leiukemias models.
Hello. This will be a long post, so if you're just here for the pictures, then by all means just look at them. But I've written something about them below this.
Ok, so the longer version. I've been 3d modelling for about 8 months. But, in the past about 3 months, I've rarely touched the program. My real progress with better models actually started in about august when I discovered plane modelling.
Anyways. I post these here becuase I want some constructive critism. I've been as a guest on gbx for awhile, and know some of the more popular people, well not know, but recognize, whatever you know what I mean.
By all means, criticize my work to the very vertex, that's what I'm here for. I think my models are decent, but I want to improve. Help is especially appreciated from such people as Katarn, SnaFubar, Rossmum, and other very good 3d modellers.
K so I'll stop boring you and show you the damn pictures. I think it is appropriate for them to all be in one post, as they are all going into the same map and I don't want to take up space with like 7 articles. I've posted links so as not to lag out those of you with 56k.
This is the CZ-99. It was my first ever plane modelled gun. It is 1261 polygons. It has some messy spots, but it is my first with this method understand.

This is the mp7. It is 1585 polies. It is my secondish model. I started after the cz, gave up, then continued it as my latest model. When I got it ingame, the scope was too far back, so It'll be moved slightly forwards. Haven't made the clip yet either.

This is my MP5. It is 1598 polies. It is kind of differant from the real one I know, the stock has not been welded on yet. Sort of a little custom.

This is just a custom bayonet I made. Its 477 polies. Pretty simple.

This is my own concoction. It's a p90, except revamped into an assault rifle. Anything I am missing for proper gun function please notify me of. It's 1352 polies. I know there's that error on the bottom of the handle, I fixed it after I realized it wasn't just a black spot on my moniter.

This is a challenger from my earlier days, it's pretty poorly modelled, with not-quite plane modelling. Instead of places verts on lines, I just pulled lines with shift and used the cut tool a lot. You can actually see most of the problem at the front wheel well. I think it was like 1952 polies, it's on my other computer right now. I never finished it, it's too screwed.

And of course, probably the most leet gun you've ever seen. It's an m16, 737 polies, with a sweet texture. Damn straight it's square as hell.

K so now that all that hell is over. BTW, feel free to look at my other stuff on my photobucket acount. But keep in mind, my brother shares it with me, so there is a lot of useless crappy pictures there. But you can also view my early early early models around the 6th (I think) page. They were box modelled, and very messy. So I didn't feel it was necessary to post them too. Also, some pictures are of other peoples work I was helping to point errors out in. Those are pretty much all the decent models I have as of now. Again, if you see any errors I've looked over please point them out to. I have the utmost of respect towards more experianced modellers, and I will take your help into acount. And no, I haven't yet learned UVW mapping, to do it well anyways. Only a few include wire frames, as I am still not done any that I didn't include the wire. They still contain the symmetry line and are a bit messy as of now. Thank you in advance, Leiukemia.
PS, what kind of email acount do I need to sign up at GBX? It won't let me use hotmail. How do I locate my IP email or whatever it sais there? [/longpost]

Taken into acount. I'll do a better one. I thought since it wouldn't actually be seen ingame, so I conserved polies. But for artistic purposes, I think I'll make it smoother anyways.needs some smoothing on the clip though
Hmm, well I don't really use the program much, just stretch the work over awhile. That's why I have so few. But they generally took about 2-3 days each, but probably a week each because I don't work on them much. How long were you working on all of these?

lol well I'm not gonna lie. When I say a day though, I mean about 5 hours that day. I know, that's pretty slow. I've still got to get used to hotkeys and the like. And I'm 17, not quite a child prodigy. I read a lot of halo forums on gbx, and learned stuff from SnaFubar and Rossmum without them knowing. Mwahahaha.

Someone learned stuff from me? Holy crap.

lol, yeah, mostly just from looking at where you put stuff on your models. But, I was looking at my CZ99, and realized it's pretty off. When I made it, I didn't size the plane the referance picture was on. So my gun is a little longer then it should be. I just sized it to how I thought would look good, but in doing that it's not completly correct. But that's ok, I'm happy with how it looks anyways, so I'm not going to change it. Not a lot of people even know what the CZ99 is :p
