Sorry guys but I'm gonna have to agree with that one.kibito87 wrote:Looks fun to play.

I do like the good, balanced game play mods too, those are amazing, but mods can be fun too ya know, and just because they're fun and easy doesn't automatically mean they have to be used for cheating.

Nice For a first i am working on my first mod also i havent gotten into that many tuts so i figured most the stuff out by myself. Just keep on doing more to your mod untuil it gets better and better and when you get bored of the mod dont trash it save it for latter. i suggest you join a team or creat your own. it seems to make projects alot more smooth and easy. like have 1 person do effects another do skinning and ther bsp etc. yea just keep your head up and have faith in your self.

I'm glad there is somebody like you still around.Darkshallfall wrote:Nice For a first i am working on my first mod also i havent gotten into that many tuts so i figured most the stuff out by myself. On Topic: I like the effect you have going with the warthog. I didn't even know you could make the backlights brighter on the hog! lol awesome.

I joined way before him and I am still considered new to the people who know me. I have never released a mod for Halomods, although I have made some pretty decent ones for myself and Enlightened-one.h2h wrote:hes not that new

O well nice job on a first
I like for a first.

No animated avatars soz...Read the rules next time please.
Have you played HSM's Biohazard III? That is a mod. Balance and gameplay are what truly make a mod, if there's a bunch of one-hit-kill weapons, there's usually little to no fun. This mod is in no way even good for a first. I've seen plenty of 'first mods' on here from newer people who at least attempted skinning and balance, some have even attempted model injection. This is just a few projectile swaps. IMO, this is just bad, 0/10.kibito87 wrote:Looks fun to play.

a mod doesnt have to be godly like biohazard III for it to be fun, but this one does seem a little lacking. He still did more than a lot of people
@ G.I.R i've noticed you tend to be negative towards everybody instead of giving them advice

Yeah modding is about having fun, NOT CHEATING, and finding out how the game works. I agree.kibito87 wrote:Looks fun to play.

But I think of FILES.halomods.com is like a big Market Place where everybody is trying to sell their stuff to customers (downloaders). So your target should be to interest and shock the customers, to get more money (fans of a mod).
The regular Halomods forums or the tutorial section is like school to learn all the techniques of making a successful market.
Thats the way I see the halomods forums. =P But not modding in general.
P.S. I think people who discover new thingslike Turk, for example, are like... inventors. They find something new that the people like and the marketers use it to help make their mod sell.
EDIT:
P.S.S. Making cheating mods is like selling Flood porn.

I also agree with you but there should be no shame and put downs because someone felt they liked their mod and wanted to show others. I'm not saying you have, don't get me wrong.Dojorkan wrote:Yeah modding is about having fun, NOT CHEATING, and finding out how the game works. I agree.

Also, I apologize to the topic creater for turning this into a discussion about the website itself. To whom it may concern further, PM me to argue your point if need be. It's just rude of us to do this to the guy. Again, i am sorry for what i've done thus far. And for everyone else, please move this discussion elsewhere... (AIM, PM, whatever else there is).
Thanks.

It's a first, not one I like in perticular.
Also I belive that put-downs are what make modders better. If they get just the right amount they decide that they should try harder to avoid these put-downs.
