Not too bad...the back end seems lacking in detail compared to the rest, and the bridge like-thingy on the top front of the gun looks weird for some reason...it just doesn't seem rounded enough, causing odd proportions.

well... for this model, to save it, i would say use chamfer, but do it carefully. then use smoothing groups. in the future, try to plane model. it'll turn out much cleaner.

you're incredibly naive as to what a good model is.

Snaf, it's his opinion, there's no need to be so hostile.

If you don't like it, that's ok, but there's no need to insult someone else's views.

i have an opinion on his opinion, just like you have one on mine ;)

mike, is there any way you can start off using a plane or something in this program? when i say chamfer, i mean chamfering the edges. it cuts corners off. do that (if you can) two or three times, and it could look ok. other than that, i see a lot of inaccuracies in your model. try using a lot of helpful, high res photos of what it is you're modeling.

Yea I can create planes but for this i used splines. I dont really know how i would model the shape of the gun with a plain. I also did some researching on google and found out what i already knew. In c4d chamfering is called the bevel tool and smoothing groups i think are hyper nubs. I tried both, the hypernubs kind of ruined it but i guess the chamfering makes it some what better.

http://tutorials.moddb.com/16/beretta-9 ... -tutorial/

if you can do things like inserting a vertex on an edge or line, you should be able to do this, pretty much. definatley try it out, see if it works for you.

The chamfering did indeed make it look better.

getting rid of harsh edges can usually give a model a notch up. good luck with the plane modeling.
