skinning problems

when following this tutorial-http://files.halomods.com/viewtopic.php?t=59281 can you skin weapons like this to? because they only show how to skin the level. if so do i use the ditmap that shows all the parts of the weapons or vehicles or just the ground bitmaps? and can i inport other things from other pictures like car rims into a mitmap when editing?

EDIT: I have been skinning but i have ran into a problem. I tried to skin the warthog and wraith to camoflage with the tutorial above but in-game the warthog and its tires and turents are multicolered like a rainbow. The wraith is just like the warthog and the motar is crazy looking. How do i make it so i can skin the warthog and wraith to make it look like the camoflage picture I swaped it for?

Yes, same concept applies to weapons and vehicles as long as you internalize them.

ive got a new problem, i can not get the warthog and wraith to skin right unless it is a solid color. im trying to do camoflage. Should i just use photoshop and forget this tutorial or is there an easy way to fix this?
