just a theme
No, tunesrus runs a Mac. There's no Windows theme that good.

The reason this app is Multi-OS is because it's written in Java. Java requires its virtual machine to be installed. It runs on its own virtual processor, and as a result is too slow for stuff like writing games. We'll see how it fairs for this program.

Java has been ported to Mac, Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, and Unix based OS's. The FreeBSD install is a bit fo a pain though.

I'm guessing because its going to be a Universal-OS-Application. I'm just sad that it will be slow as a snail on a salt rug.

i said before i won't want to hear java is shit, java is slow so on so on becuase that is tale which used to be true in the first few versions of java java is alot better now and it is saved but not proven lol that it can run faster than C applications becuase the runtime but like i said not proven and i don't believe it myself but lets not talk about the positives and negitives of programming languages if you want to start a new thread about that

regardless of my app's language it does seem to run faster than alot of other map editing applications but i have had to take a different approach to it to get it to run faster (buffers) i buffer almost anything i read for that very reason to increase speed no it does not use a masive amounts of memory i have kept the app running under 60mb of memory and no i don't buffer the whole map that is just silly.

i will admit the GUI is a bit slow it is noticable in component view meta editor (same kinda thing as entitys and dothalos meta editor)

Main Features:
IFP, ENT, XML, HM supported plugins reading and writing
Table View, Tree View, Component View (meta editors) so you have a few choices while editing your meta
Tag Exporting currently HM format, dothalo format, entity format (maybe out dated now)
Tag Importing will be the same support once i get it working
new Patch format Halo Mutator Dynamic Patch it is patch which is more dynamic size of patch will be small and allows for the creator to give the client (person patching there map) the option to select the tag the patch is install to and what chunkindex to do it to and what values to change to
Most OS's including xbox linux
very userfriendly
and there is more to come (i have so new and interesting ideas)

Note for past and present beta testers
please try and get in contact with me AIM, MSN, or email or talk to one of my regualarly contacted beta testers to get in contact with me and i will give you a rest update i have not given out a beta for a while becuase i had to go through a masive rebuild to give support for halo 1 and leaving room for halo 3 which i will want to support but very iffly if i can it will depend on how much it is like halo 1 and 2

I've coded in Java, for an application such as this, I do expect it to be slower that Entity, but it shouldn't be a big deal.

in what way will it be slower i have talked and compared with poke tag extraction and proper chunk adding (including fixing reflexives) in mine out performs entity. well it did the only area where slowness maybe be a issue is the GUI. but fixing reflexives and scaning tags recurivsly is nothing it can all be done and very quickly

I can verify that's a Mac...unless someone REALLY spent time putting in a wireless menulet, audio output menulet, and a fake Spotlight searcher menulet.

Can't wait for the program to be released! :D

Yes, it's a Mac. tunesrus90 owns a Mac - old news.

Make sure it can duplicate and rename tags. Also, drag and drop would be a nice addition.

It is most definately running on mac. As Dwells55 and others have said, I use macs (for the most part, though I have a PC too). Also, in general Java may not be as fast as native languages, however, its not a big deal at all, the only slower part about this app is component GUI view which I don't even use. I usually use tree view. Also, for those of you who are saying that it doesn't offer anything new besides cross-platform, first of all, it uses many formats of plugins and is very easy to use. Also, you should be able to run this on your xbox if you have xbox linux, which means no FTPing and no computer necessary for modding.
