Post by UltimateDark »

So i did some tut on how to put linux on your ipod....heres my problem.....

I got to the part where they told me to install linux and when the installation was complete i DISCONECTED(sp?) THE IPOD!!! but i didnt read the rest of the paragraph, so when i disconected the ipod some code came up and now its frozen on teh screen!

So my question is....do i wait until its battery runs out or is my ipod dead?

Thanks in advance!

ok, I dont think your iPod isnt fried.

Check with windows can detect it first. Then see if you can completely reformat it by either using windows or the HP USB Reformatter tool. Put the Apple firmware back on, and restart the tutorial with the "aes.exe" part. If its stuck in limbo, and you iPod dies, you're screwed, Unless you have a AC Wall adapter to put a charge in it, and try restarting it and hooking it up. If your comp cant read it, and you plug it up, it wont hold a charge.

If you send it to Apple, they'll give you a new one. My friend's exploded and they gave him a new one for free. (and it was a Video, the expensive one.)

I was speaking figurately. It hit the ground and split into a million pieces. (that was figurative, too.)

They can't give you a new one for messing up that one. You modified the Software that came on it, It's not their responsibility. Did you follow the steps I gave you?
