I'm looking for some help with a real life problem. Today In school I got called down to the office for an announcement. My mom died in a car accident. Then, at lunch, All of my friends that have been my friends for like 3 years started making fun of me. I'm friends with some popular kids but i'm not popular and I hate it. I feel like nobody likes me, So I've been contemplating suicide, although I know it's bad I just can't take this anymore, can anyone help me reassure myself of why not to?

Because suicide is a sign of weakness, no matter how shitty your life is, there are barely any situations in which you should ever commit suicide. Life just isn't fair and things like this happen and people have to deal with them, if you deal with this and make it through you'll probably be a better person than most people because of your experience. Just don't do it is all that I can say...

See, for the first few years we were solid friends, me and tony especially. then all of the sudden he decided to hate me, and a week later we were friends again. I never thought it would happen ever again, worng. It happened like four times in a year, and this time I don't want to forgive him, but we've been best friends for so long, I have to.

As phosphorous said. If they make fun of you they were never your friends, or maybe they were your friends because you were popular.

Life is not fair. I had to wait for a good portion of my life for people to judge me by my character and not by stereotypes and rumors. If those friends of yours are making fun of you NOW of all times you have every right to punch them in my opinion.

Life will get better. A lot of people say that childhood is the best; they lie. These are the people that will be working at supermarkets bagging groceries and retiring at 80.

I'm not gonna say your gonna forget the pain when you go into adulthood, but I am saying that it will reinforce you (not the pain the experience).

By the way, if you commit suicide, you will never find the love of your life, you will never be truly happy, you will never have done any of the things that you need time for that wanted to do in your life.

Talk to a counselor at school, suicide is never worth it. Seriously man, you should find a real person to talk to. There is a life worth living. I am very sorry that your mom died.

I am very sorry to hear about what happened to your mom, if you are telling the truth. One day I was on Live and this guy said his mom died just for attention, which he lied about.

If she did die, I am very sorry, don't listen to waht others say. Go talk to someone, really. Life is worth living, people heal over time.

the "popular" kids at schools are usually hella stuck up. i would recomend talking to a counselor at your school though.

The best thing in this situation is not to hide from your feelings, but to face them, and take control. Try laying down on your bed, or sitting in a comfortable position, relax all your muscles and lay perfectly still, then imagine yourself a few feet in front of yourself and look at yourself, what are you feeling? What do those feelings make you want to do? Are the consequences of those actions beneficial or detrimental? Think long and hard about it then I usually drift off into sleep, it helps because once you wake up you feel very loose and calm. Do this any time you feel depression, tension, or anything. Also, watch a lot of comedy central or something, this is not the time for anyone to be saying "I'm so sad that your mom died" because that only reinforces the negativism of the mood, laugh, smile, watch comedy, and meditate.

Why you still call them "friends" baffles me. This is something that I can't imagine how horrible this is. I agree with what Phosphorous. Even if they don't know about this yet, if they're constantly making fun of you, then they're not very good friends. But, then again, if they just are being an ass at that specific moment, well, everyone's an ass sometimes. So I wouldn't take it personally if that's the case. I'm very sorry about your mother, wish there was something I could do.

i don't have much to say except to just hang on. suicide isn't worth it anytime, nomatter what the situation is, and if you just stick it through, things get better.

my problems in life have been 10 times worse than yours, sorry to hear you're having a rough time but suck it up, you're only in highschool, you know those "popular kids" everyone hates them after a couple of years out of highschool, the girls that liked them, well they realise that prettyboys arent what they want and they really just want an honest caring person. highschool is lame, i had lots of "friends" i was actually very popular in some aspects but popularity is never something you should worry about. just be yourself dont try to please anyone else if you do make other people happy/ they want to be your friend then atleast you know it's because of who you are and not who they want you to be. life is short enough, why end it now? on that note if you still feel this way tell someone who cares and go see a doctor/psychiatrist it can help just to talk things out.
