I don't intend to ask them for help (that or when halomods forums are so completely unresponsive that I will have no choice [asking for help, though, is the last thing I do in my list of figuring out problems]). They would probably just flame me and tell me to go to hell or go back to halomods.
And yes I do use it as a reference. They have an nice feature where when you search you can go into a thread and then search for keywords in that thread, and after that I use control-f to find what I need on that specific page.
Nifty, I think I overuse it. Though that is true, I try to find stuff out myself, like my bitmap problem (which is still unsolved).

First up, "once you get used to it"? I've been "used to it" for 2 years and 6 months, thanks. And it USED to be good. Now, it's meh. At least Excal's working on fixing the place up.TheySayImCrazy wrote:I forgot to reply here.
[Some of them like me, some hate me (mainly the #gbh crew... but they hate most people).
Halomods isn't so bad once you get used to it. I personally think that gearbox hates halo ce and all of it's players because they must support it on their company website. I don't remember where I saw it but there was this quote:
"Programming is like having sex, one mistake and you'll have to support it the rest of your life." Which is exactly what happened to gearbox. I wouldn't like it either, if I was a company owner of a video game company such as gearbox .
Second- What the fuck are you smoking? Gearbox created CE in their own time, using their own initiative. Gearbox provided some excellent forums for CE devs. And that quote has absolutely shit all to do with this topic.
You just hate anyone who doesn't hero-worship someone because they can do something you can't. And 9mm is still bitter over his ban, which is a shame, because he used to be a really likeable guy.TheySayImCrazy wrote:That is what I think as well, and it is why I hate them. Snafs sig is proposterous and quite hilarious.GBX is full of people who are full of themselves and think they are superior to everyone, thats why i was there :O
Chances are you don't even know where Snaf's sig came from, and don't use words you don't understand to try sound cool. Tell me how Snaf's sig is "proposterous", please.
You do mean to flame, don't lie. We offer what advice we can where we can, we're honest about the quality of things. And for your information, neither Snaf nor I rip anything at all. We make our own custom content.TheySayImCrazy wrote:Exactly. I feel this is what rossmum and snaf preach, but never do anything to help fix. I don't mean to flame either. There are not a lot of graphics tutorials out there, Katarns website was the bomb up until it went ka-flop. People need to help each other and be less selfish. The database of tutorials over at halomaps is largely corrupt and I don't think anyone gives a ****. Also I don't post my valuable designs and models because I don't want them ripped, stolen, or used somewhere else by someone else.they think this place is fulll of noobs, indeed it is. However the thing they hate about noobs is explaining things to them, they are too busy ripping tags from others and stealing **** to talk to noobs and explain stuff :O
The word "newbie" signifies someone who is new to something and is not a derogatory term. The word "noob" signifies someone who is new to something but rather than being a respectable person, goes forth to act like a complete fuckwad and piss people off. Newbs should be helped; noobs should be made to feel like the shit they are.TheySayImCrazy wrote:I have a bone to pick with you 9mlm man, the term is "newbie" which comes from the word "new", which is used as a term to indicate a new person. It is now an insult, and you use the insult instead of the former.
The whole transformation of newbie into an insult is laregely the fault of arrogant, overzealous, egotists. It spread around much like OldFaq's attitude.
What does that have to do with anything?TheySayImCrazy wrote:The internet is not a friendly place. It is filled with all kinds of characters and personas. I bet you've heard of PurePwnage.com, and their series of clips about an internet and gaming obsessed guy, and his friends who are also gaming and internet obssessed. They all have limited grammar and vocabulary, it is present even in their speech. I have been on the internet long enough now that I cannot explain what "owned" or "pwned" means to anyone else, yet I use it frequently.
Illiterate? Nice work calling people illiterate and then making spelling and grammar mistakes immediately after. Besides, gaming comes with its own vocabulary, what's to say gamers are illiterate? Take your hypocritical stereotypes elsewhere.TheySayImCrazy wrote:The first time I ever heard of the two phrases was on my first internet game: diablo 2 (which I hate). They actually made fun of me for not knowing, the term made absolutely no sense what so ever. I thought that it was quite the opposite that these guys were laughing at me for not knowing, these were the immature illiterate fools who thought me not knowing something was enough to be insulted and ostracised for. By nature the internet is an unfriendly place, because of human nature. Peoples egos, and reputation astound and raise to unprecedented levels here.
Also, you're the one with the ego issue. Long-winded rants like this only piss people off, stop trying to elevate yourself above others. You're one of the worst new members here, you go looking for trouble... I believe that's called flamebaiting or trolling, I also believe it's ban material.
You know that all too well, don't you?TheySayImCrazy wrote:The fact that you can be a total **** to someone halfway around the fucking globe, and not be ostracised or reprimanded yourself is a sad but very real fact of life on the internet.
Well that works, good going.TheySayImCrazy wrote:The internet is not for the faint of heart, which I happen to be close to being. I could go into such detail but I cannot.
Like the stereotypes you've used all through this post?TheySayImCrazy wrote:The internet is a place where the worst, most hateful and disturbing things can occur, because you are anonymous, and no one will ever know that you ever did something so horrible. This is much like modern life, but without the validity, and traceroutes. For instance, a rumor can be started and no one will ever know who started it, or if it is true. This is a place where the turn over is high, and sterotypes abound.
Like you. Hypocrite.TheySayImCrazy wrote:I have realised that stereo types can be true, but it is not the fact of whether a stereotype is true or not, that is the real problem. The truth is that it depends on the person who is making the stereotype. I am willing to bet that the majority of stereotypes are made by hateful, unlikeable people.
You just fucking MADE a stereotype there, AND tried to further your ego by placing yourself above these so-called "common folk". Nice one.TheySayImCrazy wrote:Stereotyping is like psychology for the common folk. The common folk have neither the knowledge nor the training to create an accurate depiction of a person, they don't care because there are some out there who will believe them and the fact stands that it only furthers their agenda.
Exactly, the ones you call spiteful fuckwits are the ones with enough maturity and knowledge to give honest comments, only to have morons like you start bitching. Get out.TheySayImCrazy wrote:I have a theory that the most healthy minded people, are the meanest ones, at least here on the internet. A healthy minded person would not care what some silly text that someone wrote from halfway around the globe, but some others would care. I can tell you that a good reputation anywhere is a wonderful feeling, I had it once on a certain forum, and it was wonderful. A reputation is an essential thing because it means that you get taken seriously. Those people that spam to get their post count up, and seem old and wise on a forum realise this, and decide that the easiest and most clever way to gain respect is to be an old and wise forum member. This is what I mean by healthy minded people are the meanest. They realise things socially and go to work to take advantage of that.
You wouldn't happen to know Strider Vega Core, would you? Hmmm... Lock and ban, please. This guy is a serious troller.TheySayImCrazy wrote:The internet is the most chaotic thing that humanity has probably ever created. Chaos theory, theories actually do apply here, much like other object such as the stock market. In social areas, chaos abounds. This occurs on the internet because the itnernet is nothing but a large social network. The stock market is a social object, because it involves many, many, many people and their choices and influence affect many, many, many other people. I am working on a theory, forums are so very theraputic for me, they help me think things through in writing, and I know that they will be read by someone. I save all my long deep posts such as this to my harddrive, I probably have at least a hundred word files that I will never read saved on this baby. This theory is about humanity, and about it's future and role in the universe. I've said before that somehow, someway, forums always come up with a topic I can express my latest thoughts in. I have a great memory for facts, but little memory for actual events. There are some events that happened that are burned into my brain, that I will never forget. I just realised that if I took the time to remember all the good things, and not so many bad things I wouldn't feel so negative about my life. I think I've said it before, I think objects are much cooler than people. People don't backstab you, people don't make you feel like the most worthless piece of ****. This has been a subliminal belief all my life, and I think it has to do with all the times I felt so very embarrassed. My god, if my doctor read everything on my hard drive, he would freak. I told him some stuff a while ago about my thinking, he said it really helped. I think forums are theraputic for me, I am finding and discovering myself. My mental disorder and the way I act is a poorly understood area, if my doctor could read these, I swear he would freak out.Well, back to my theory, the theory is unraveling itself everytime I write these posts. I wonder very, very much about an experiment yet to be performed by scientists due to ethics and morals. The experiment is, to see what a human would be like if he or she grew up without ever meeting another human being. This interests me so very much. I sooo need a blog XD. I think it would reveal so very much about the human race in general, and I wonder how better off the human race would be if it was different. It's late and I'm wandering, I have forgotten where I was going with this again (I don't usually do this) and I must go to bed. I shall expand on it later
.
And metkillerjoe, I'm actually pretty sure you'd do well at Gearbox. They love new members who actually try to follow the rules and learn to do things well through constructive criticism. You may as well register, and if anyone gives you any shit, tell me.

Oh okay, so you'd rather be called " a lil dumb bitch that cant connected 2 and 2 together to save they pewny little fucked up lifes" than "noob"?
you gotta accept what you give, i pissed my friend off, he hacked me, i got over it and laugh at it.
i got banned from gbx, i got banned from gbx big deal. i can still SEE the forums so i just laugh at peoples topics like Sonic's Xtreme where he says its sonics rebirth, fuck that wasnt even born. like 2 maps were released, 2 BETA maps that just showed us the content, no they gave up? they're maps look cool they just need to relise some shit

*stares at the above posts*
Wow.... just.... wow.
Rossmum I think you have some anger issues. I enjoy talking to you, I would not like to see you banned, but the majority of your last post was one long rant/flame. I've said it before, you overreact. I believe that first reactions are usually overreactions, I'm going to say this once and friendly like, and say this right before it you cannot possibly take this as an insult like you have my entire previous post: take a little time to think, and contemplate the post before you post and overreact.
I can still feel the buzz, yes the buzz, from the adverse and stunning overeaction to my post. I didn't mean a single word in that to be a flame. You (members of halomods) hold such a grudge against me that you overreact to my post just like you just did.
Use that ^, because that is seriously wrong, and fucked up. You do not play games with loaded weapons with your real life friends, why should you allow your friend to do such a thing?

To late. It makes me so angry how much people have stolen from me.
My bad grammar and spelling errors are due to the fact that I don't care to double check, and if you're going to be a grammar NAZI and you can't focus on the actual subject, don't reply to my posts because you will never understand me.
I'm not even going to mention why you guys never understand me. I shouldn't have to, it's demoralizing.
Go ahead and make every innocent sentence I write into an insult why don't you, it's not like you haven't already done that. /sarcasm. -.-
Hey I may have been right, old decrepit communities really are the shithole of humanity. Ostracising individual forum members because you lack the sense, and the compassion to understand them is something I've seen from old communities before, it's much like the gearbox crowd to ostracize an individual and make an allusionary joke/insult about him or her at every opportunity (akin to talking behind their back). Case in point: llamaboy.

I hate sonic to. Those maps were incredibly ridiculous, and incedibly lame. Making halo into all kinds of different ridiculous and lame genres is something that should not be done. Case in point: the teletubbies mod.i got banned from gbx, i got banned from gbx big deal. i can still SEE the forums so i just laugh at peoples topics like Sonic's Xtreme where he says its sonics rebirth, **** that wasnt even born. like 2 maps were released, 2 BETA maps that just showed us the content, no they gave up? they're maps look cool they just need to relise some ****
Smoking what? I don't smoke, it's bad for your health and I have no interest in destroying my precious brain neurons. I was under the impression that Bungie gave gearbox a contract to make halo ce, and the HEK. That quote has everything to do with the quote that I posted, maybe you should try reading more carefully. Gearbox made a mistake in making the halo ce and HEK, because now they must support it.Second- What the **** are you smoking? Gearbox created CE in their own time, using their own initiative. Yes, like fish in a barrel. -.- Obviously: the fish can't fight back and never meant you any harm. <--- had to point that out, you would have turned that into an insult anyhow, you seem to ignore the obvious.Pwned by rossmum lol.
