Halo run error

Post by DRL333 »

Ok I got a new computer but I get this error every time I try and play Halo "A problem occurred initializing Direct3D. Hardware acceleration maybe disabled, please run DXDIAG". I have Direct3D, and my hardware acceleration is full and when I run DXDiag, it says that everything is fine, I ran all of the tests and everthing was good. The weird thing is that my old computer had a horrible gfx card, all the textures in the game were black, white, and grey. Also, the processor was horrible too, but I was still able to play Halo on it. Here's another error I get: "We are sorry, but your computer's video hardware is below the recommended minimum spec for this game. If you wish to upgrade your computer, please contact your computer manufacturer for any necessary help.[/b]

Well go to your start menu, then run, and type in dxdiag it'll bring up a window and have some tabs at the top. Find your video card tab and It'll say DIrect3d enabled or disabled. If its disabled, try to enable it. If you cant enable it, then you need to upgrade your gfx card. Post back what you see when you do that.

DirectDraw Acceleration and Direct3D Acceleration is enabled, but APG Texture Acceleration is not available. Even though Direct3D is enabled, I still get the error.

Look for an update of your video card drivers.

Remove the current drivers, then install them and reboot. Halo should work then.
I am just curious though, can you post a screen shot of your video card settings please? Maybe your card is just not compatible with Halo.
