actually the model was Ginormous when avp gave it to me so I tried resizing it as much as I could without messing up it's surface. You can see what happens to messed up surfaces on my previous injection. I love having the fun task of resizing a complicated model manually. *sarcastic*

i can fix the numbers plate but of course thats part of the uv map. so in order to fix the numbers plate first I have to fix the uv map. also i might be able to size down the model without messing up the uv's but i feel like seeing how it would come out with a skin first.

I'm just asking, but when is this going to be released? I'm SO excited for these halo 3 projects you are doing, like your MC, but I'm exspecially looking forward for the halo 3 AR, and if possible, you could try to change the picture of the smg into the AR shape, so then people wouldn't think you overrighted the SMG, but otherwise, and EXCELLENT PROJECT!!
I don't like it much, to be honest. The way I see it, the thing that makes the assault rifle such a nice looking gun was the sloped heatshield/computer unit... now it's flat, it just looks kind of meh-ish.
For a true H3 assault rifle, take the original Halo 1 AR first person and making sure you're careful here, split the front half down the middle looking end-on, mirror, and move around until it's perfectly symmetrical. This puts the details you see on the left (the vents on the side of the receiver and also the grooves on the upper heatshield/computer unit) on the right as well - Bungie left them out to save polygons and because you only see that side of the first person rifle model for a fraction of a second during the melee attack animations. Next, add ends to the barrel and the flashlight (don't bother about curving the flashlight lens- you won't see much of it close up and it doesn't matter anyways). Lengthen the barrel a little, and then make some textures and bump maps using the assault rifle shown in the trailer and screenshots as a reference. I don't mod Halo 2, but I hear it supports normals maps... if it does for weapons, persuade a good modeler with some spare time to make you a really detailed, really high-poly assault rifle and normal map it off that.

The numbers are not part of the UV and sizing the model wont mess the UV's for two reasons.
1. that never happens anyways.
2. it has no UV maps to mess up
and i kinda did release myne it isnt perfect but it can replace this

The numbers are skins applied to single planes hovering just above the LCD screen. Works the same as the blood and bullethole decals.
