Something uber cool-

AI SYNCS IN SYSTEM LINK!

I tested the coagulation mod in system link on my modded xbox hooked up to my 360 (which did NOT have the mod) and it worked perfectly! On the 360, I could see the AI spartans, and they would turn and look at me, and fire.

This could go on for a looooonnnggg time. If perfecting AI in MP is possible (doubt it) its going to take a while. I dont think were anywhere near completeing modding.

Wow, and people said it would be impossible.
Now before i bust out the xbox and bust out my modded hd and do all this work could someone that played the mod tell me something.
Is this AI smart, like can it move, can it shoot you, if you give it a rl will it kill you, if you give it a sniper will it shoot you from far away, and can it malle you?

Everything is possible, its just how probable it is, and yes, its very probable.

Do you UNDERSTAND... How many unkowns exist with many more functions... Do you REMEMBER how we still need to get bigger BSP's in MP maps? We still have alot to accomplish..

the patches that are out now the AI just looks at you and shoots the weapon they already have, but Wasting said at Halopatch they could walk "if you encourage them to do so". but i havent got them to move yet and we dont know what Trulife and Wasting have in store for us later tonight :wink:

The AI will not move around (except maybe a few reflex actions like running with a plasma maybe) because paths aren't set up, but it will otherwise act like an AI should - try to shoot you to shreds.

PS: You can't do the Hold X to switch weapons thing because they're enemies.

But it'd be interesting to try to set up another AI squad and use scripts to set them up as teammates as soon as we get the AI paths stuff down (so they can actually go somewhere).

Imagine playing a LAN party with a group of people who don't even have modded xboxs, but you have a system linkable mod where there's a whole other team of AI elites - and all real players on the same team in the team slayer game.

Well for starters how bout a "inject AI" tag? of course it will take a lot of work to make it as simple as a check box, thats something to look foward to. Matter of fact Im going to go recommend entity have one right now.

Is it possible to write a respawn code? Im not very good with code or anything yet (I am learning, and if anyone wanted to take the time to teach me that would be great) but that would be sick. And I dont fully understand why we cant just inject ai paths into the levels. And if this doesnt work in system link, and obviously xbl, then why not just change the ai in a single player map or something? Please dont yell at me, Im just curious and want to help...

I can confirm that. I have tried the same thing. Only thing the spartans were white.

i was on purple team and my redicule went green and i could swap weapons, but when i linked with my 360 they were red but didn't attackt eh purple guys, and where colored purple

Meh, I'm not that fond of AI in MP. I mean, there really is no point for it, unless you don't have friends to play Halo 2 with, or an Internet Connection to play on XBL/XBC/XLink. Although I think AI in MP is a waste of time, at least you're mapping out values in the SCNR.

Anyway, what's this talk about nothing important left to be done? Nothing could be further from the truth. There's still plenty to figure out, Animations, Physics Models, Map Building and Some specific BSP stuff, all need to be looked into.

Good job none the less.

I see your point shalted I thought that too........ until I thought of insted of 16 people in a game, you could have 16 people with 50 or so AI. think of that.
O ya and the AI can do much more then wut has been uploaded so far. In time we will have and be able to share fully functional AI. also does anyone have any idea if halo 3 will have AI in MP or will we have to go threw this again?

I just had a game on connect with the name "AI" and some kids join not even noticing the ai... all they did was shoot me... then finally after i told them, they were like wtf? Ahahah!! Then one of them got shot in the face with a rocket.
